On October 9, we woke up to a fire outside of Yountville, Ca. We needed a place to stay on our way home to LA. We chose Paso Robles and the Allegretto Hotel as our Sanctuary. We were not disappointed or unique. We met 3 other couples at a wine tasting that did the same thing.

Allegretto was an excellent hotel. The hotel is on a hill, adjacent to a vineyard and has numerous activities like Bocci and other games. Very nice pool area. The hotel is styled as a Tuscan Villa. Nicely decorated with excellent art work to wander and look at. Room was very nice. Spacious double sink, large and nicely done shower and a very comfortable bed. I will return again and spend more time in Paso Robles.

One final thought. Staff was friendly, very helpful and absolutely welcoming. Would recommend it highly.

The resort is spectacular! I constantly felt in the lap of luxury at every turn. The staff are outstanding and always helpful and friendly. There was 3 of us in a 2 queen room and there was plenty of room for all of us. We were in Paso Robles to attend a wedding at Allegretto and they did a wonderful job.
We did not eat in the restaurant but heard from other guests that it was very good. The location is close to town and it was fun to tour around Paso Robles.
I will certainly stay here again.

Room Tip: The rooms on the lower floor that face the courtyard have a lovely small private patio. Perfect for morning coffee, a tea break in the afternoon or a glass of wine in the evening. Rooms on the 2nd floor look into the patio and are very quiet.

This is one of the few times I have been steered wrong by TA reviews. I stayed here last week and I don't recommend this hotel, and certainly not for what they charge.
Overdone, tasteless interior design reflects the arrogance of the hotel staff. The reception desk was brusque and cold, to the point of rude. Extra annoying because it was my birthday, and we told them so. They didn't even wish me a happy birthday.
It wasn't just one person either, because it was the same attitude at checkout.
The hotel is designed to look like a huge Italian palazzo (nice from the outside) and decorated inside with a huge LED light changing chandelier amethyst geodes and Asian and Italian art, none of which go together and all felt tacky. The one art feature I liked was the cross section of ancient Sequoia in the sitting room behind the lobby.
We had dinner at the onside restaurant, Cello. Again, nothing great. Food
Earlier in the day when wine tasting, a local asked where we were staying and upon hearing the answer, said "Hm. Gaudy."
That pretty much summed up the place.

Allegretto is on it's way to being not only the best in Paso Robles, but could gain attention from the rest of the west coast. Everything that needs to be tweaked that could garner higher praises is fixable staff training and making the hotel work better for the guests needs and not the hotels.

Allegretto is a great high-end hotel; Food is good (though there are better places down town), rooms are well appointed and comfortable; service is generally very good and the grounds are beautiful. It is a little expensive relative to other Paso hotels. We've stayed there 4 times now. BIG plus is they accept dogs!
