Always choose to stay at Black Oak. Great staff. Clean, convenient facility. Love the pool area and amenities. Great adjoining restaurant (Margie's) and a nice breakfast discount offered to guests. Easy 101 access and a short drive to downtown.

We pulled in late from the first day on our road trip... We got there late and were greeted with a smile and great attitude.

The beds were comfy! The A/C was strong! Close to the freeway... Easy access and easy to find. Close to Morro Bay and Hearst Castle and Wineries.

They had a coupon deal for breakfast at the resturaunt on site but we didn't use as we were kind of in a hurry the next morning but it looked like there were a lot of people in there for a Sunday Morning.

I would definetly stay here again!!!

Room Tip: The 2 Queen Double we got was a very spacious room. If you get an upper floor room, there is only on...

Stayed at this motel for 1 night with friends on a stopover en route from Las Vegas to San Francisco. Rooms were clean and not a bad size with the usual toiletries free of charge, fridge and air con, as well as a jar of sweets, a nice touch. Location was just on the outskirts of this small town, a 20 minute walk on flat ground to the smart restaurants and bars of the area.
Staff were all very friendly and helpful - don't forget to get the $5 off vouchers for the diner next door for your breakfast. And one meal really is enough to share!
Recommended for a short stay - free parking too.

It's a typical Best western. Clean rooms, tv, wifi, etc. simple, not fancy, but that's what you want when you stay in a hotel like this. Where this hotel gets props is the pool. It is 9 feet deep, cool water on a hot day. We loved it.

Beyond that, it is somewhat of an unremarkable location, but convenient. I recommend it for a night or two.

Very accommodating as I had planned to spend two nights but had to cancel Friday night. Not a problem. On arrival Saturday, check in smooth, a friend had left a package which they presented to me. Our room was clean, decorated appropriately, everything worked beautifully. It was as would be expected for the price of $198. Hotels in Paso Robles, from my point of view are quite over priced. But, if they get people to pay it, well, there you go. I had a wedding to go to, my Grandson to be exact. No price was too high for him. You get a $5 coupon to eat breakfast at Margies next door. Fine if you like to eat like a truck driver or cowboy. We went on down to the Paso Robles in were you can have a buffet or eat on their lovely patio, with a coi pond and where they let doggie be a part of the experience. Always a plus for us.

To be honest, I wasn't expecting much. We had been driving all day and just needed a place to crash. Two other hotels were full and one didn't have a restaurant (and we were hungry!) so we decided to just stay here. The room was quite large with a good layout, had two big beds with plenty of pillows and had tons of travel toiletries in the restroom. There was a flat-screen TV that had lots of channels to choose from and the remote control showed that it had been 'just cleaned.'
We went to the diner next door for breakfast and because we were guests of the Best Western we received a $5 off coupon. The diner had huge breakfast portions and great customer service. Overall, this is a clean, quiet motel with good amenities in a great location.

Hotel service and accommodations are good just make sure to put your DO NOT DISTURB sign on the door or your room will be set up for the next guests while you are having breakfast. Jacuzzi hot tub is hot, clean and relaxing. The pool has a good deep end and is a good size.

BOMLBW, General Manager at Best Western Plus Black Oak, responded to this review, 19 August 2014
I am glad you enjoyed our hotel.

As I also responded to your survey with Best Western, I expressed that our housekeeping staff would not have a way to know that you were not done with your accommodations when the room is empty and there is not a do not disturb sign on the door. Our staff has an obligation to prepare our check out rooms for the next guests' arrival and when a room listed on their departure list appears to be vacant, they will clean the room for the day. The staff offered you the opportunity to go back to use the room, indicating it would not be an issue to re-service it upon your final departure, but you refused. Again, I am sorry for the inconvenience this caused you and your party. Angela McKee, General Manager
