We loved our stay at the Black Oak Motor Lodge. Super clean room, excellent pool and Jacuzzi, super friendly staff. Spent lots of time giving advice and directions to local wineries and restaurants. We will be back!

Comfortable & Clean - actually bed was much better than most hotels. Lots of food choices around the hotel - and they give you a voucher towards breakfast in the morning. .. The staff is very helpful - we had an issue in our room and they were very proactive in trying to correct it - ultimately we just relocated to another room. Would stay again if in the area. .... (Good 'Ole Burgers next door is great for the hamburger lover - and freshly prepared onion rings!)

We attended the Zinfandel Festival and stayed four nights here. The staff went out of their way to be helpful and friendly. The hotel is older but the rooms have been upgraded and the bed was comfortable with plenty of fluffy pillows. The pool area was clean and welcoming. The staff had great recommendations for wineries and gave us a lot of complimentary tasting coupons for area wineries.

After driving for 5 hours, we arrived at this hotel close to 10 pm. The warm lobby was a welcome sight, and was small and cozy with coffee pots set up. The receptionist was friendly and genuine, and very helpful. The rooms were accessible from the parking lot, and we stayed on a ground floor one. There was a diner on the other side of the parking lot that offered breakfast vouchers for a discounted price. The rooms were a little outdated, but very clean. The television was also small and old, but being late at night, that was not an issue for us. The highlight of the entire hotel were the luxuriously soft beds. It was the best nights sleep I have had at a hotel. Early the next morning we checked out, and had breakfast at Starbucks which was a few buildings down.

Overall, a very good price for the value. It was really the only "middle" class hotel in Paso Robles, the others were dives or very expensive.

Our stay was extremely comfortable. We were travelling by train and the staff were happy to pick up and return us to the train station. The room was spacious, quiet and comfortable and very clean. There were many choices of food next door and within 2 minutes walk. Our 3 night stay was not long enough. We would love to have stayed longer.
The area is just beautiful and our tour to Hearst Castle with Wine Wrangler was First class, with special treatment for a birthday celebration.

I booked Friday and Saturday nights at this hotel for a weekend of local wine tasting on line and got the AAA rate of about $90.00 per night. We usually stay at Best Westerns, tho. we have stayed at Hilton's, Marriott's, Sheraton's, etc. I must say, THIS Best Western hotel stands out as one of ther best hotels we have stayed at, bar none. It is conveniently located with plenty of free parking. Our room was up dated, spotless, quiet and very comfortable, w/free wifi. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful at all times, be it a request for an extra blanket or suggestions for a good restaurant. Upon check in we found out we had been upgraded to a larger room w/a Jacuzzi tub. We also received several free wine tasting coupons , which is a big deal when you consider how many wineries you may visit. They do not have a restaurant on site but do give $5.00 vouchers for breakfast at a great diner across the parking lot. I saw that there was a nice looking pool and laundry facilities but we did not use them. Forget Napa..we will come back to Paso and Best Western next time we want to go wine tasting, which will hopefully be very soon.

Stayed a single nite at this hotel on way to Hearst Castle and a few wineries. Updated motor inn that has been lovingly taken care of. Very convenient location for our purposes. Also have a nice cafe with a good breakfast at the hotel. The management of hotel gives discount coupons for this cafe, especially useful for the breakfast--very good, lots of well prepared food. Room was very roomy with separate toilet area--our room also had a refrigerator and microwave. Little nice things--little bowl of candy in room, reception person was very helpful and answered questions. Also had discount coupons for wineries in area.
Overall a very good experience and I would definitely stay here again if I had the chance.
