“Leave the worries behind and treat yourself to a memorable stay at the Pasa Robles Inn.”
Reviewed 9 September 2010

This historic hotel has spacious rooms surrounding grounds that look like something out of a gardening magazine. Eat outside by the koi pond or inside looking out at wonderful old oaks and colorful flower gardens among well maintained lawns and cascading streams nestled in the center of this hotel. Have your morning coffee on your own private deck or wind down at the end of the day in your own hot tub on your room's deck and then climb into a comfy bed and get lost in the flames of your private fireplace. It is hard to believe there are 100 rooms as it seems so quiet and peaceful. The staff bends over to make sure your stay is the best. The location is just across the street from the park with the old library museum which offers much information on historic Paso Robles as well as a map of walking tours through the historic downtown streets and surrounding neighborhoods which include wonderful old Victorian homes. Be sure to read the book about the Inn provided in each room to learn about the fascinating history of Paso Robles Inn.

We paid $269/nite (AAA discount) and for that we got an extremely uncomfortable bed and lighting so poor you could not read in the room. It's a beautiful older hotel with lovely grounds, but it felt like we were in a cave with a caveman bed that was hard as a rock. Find a nice B & B and skip this place.

Quiet, clean, comfortable. If it were 50 degrees instead of 100, we would have used the fireplace. Reservation easy, total courtesy throughout.

The only downside was that we got a room overlooking the main street. I always sleep with my window open but it was way too noisy to do that. Even with it closed I could still hear a lot of noise Next time I will request a courtyard room.

Had a very relaxing time at Paso Robles Inn, We really enjoyed the mineral spas which was a very nice treat to both of us. The Paso Robles wineries were fantastic and so personable. We especially liked Meridian, EOS, Pomar Junction Vineyards which is family owed winery, and Wild Horse. We did enjoy Templeton wineries as well including McPhee's, a local restaurant in Templeton. We will be coming back for sure. Both towns had so many nice people who made our stay memorable.

My husband and I arrived at the Inn on a Monday (Fair time in Paso). We didn't have the customary shampoo, etc. in our room....not a really big deal, just different. We have stayed at the Inn for the past 5 years (we are locals from Grover Beach, about 45 min south) when the Fair is in town and things were just not the 'norm' in our room. After we got settled, we went to the bar for a drink and an appetizer. There was a young gentleman tending bar....it wasn't busy (4:00 in the afternoon) and we sat down at a table. We weren't approached by anyone for at least 5 to maybe 10 min. We asked for a menu and gave him our drink order. He took awhile to get back to us, with our drinks and the menu. Took awhile, again, for him to come back and take our order...potato skins. Finally got the potato skins, I asked for some ranch dressing (which I never got) and he didn't give us any set up; napkins, silver ware etc. I had to get up and ask a waitress who was getting some things out of the cupboard. I could go on with this, but I think you get the picture. We proceeded downstairs for an early dinner. The service was outstanding!
The next morning, we saw that the maids were busy getting rooms cleaned so we got ourselves together, walked around town, did some wine tasting and got back to the room at around 2:30.......room still wasn't done....I spoke to one of the maids closest to our room and she was very 'frazzled'. We told her we would go and have something to eat and be back.....room was done, shampoo and everything there.....2 days worth.....
Next morning we walked around town again, then decided to go back to the Inn and have a late breakfast or early lunch at the coffee shop. When we walked in there were only 2 people at the counter and the counter was pretty messy. We sat down, and, seriously waited for 10 min until I stopped a wait person and asked if anyone was working the counter.....he said he would have someone help us as soon as possible....we waited, AGAIN, and a couple came in from the street, sat down, and he proceeded to wait on them, asking them if they would like coffee and that the breakfast menu had ended and they were now serving lunch. WE FELT INVISIBLE!!!! We walked out and had a fabulous lunch at Chico's down the street. At check out on Wednesday, we weren't asked how our stay was, which we thought was unusual. I didn't have the energy in me to complain at the time....it's taken me this long. Sorry about the tirade, but, if the Inn is under new management, it isn't working....
