“Good, but not that good!”
Reviewed 2 August 2014

You definitely are paying for the ambiance! My friends and I had a beautiful table and great expectations as it is a beautiful location! However, the food and the service do not match up with the price. Although our servers were very friendly, especially Michael with his quiet elegance. It appeared to us that our waitress had to many tables to wait on as she was not able to provide us with enough attention. We had to ask several times for more bread, had to ask for butter and just generally were not well attended to during our dining experience for this high a priced restaurant. There were, however, plenty of people standing at the door as we left to say goodbye! I will say that the recommended wines were excellent! The jidori chicken I had was okay but seemed to lack a lot of flavor. I would no consider it extraordinary. For the menu, we felt that there should have been an offering of a side of vegetables as an option to go with the meal.

“Great Food & View”
Reviewed 27 July 2014

We liked the pastas and the fish (I had the salmon). It's not cheap but you could get a refund of the $10+ entrance fee to the scenic 17 miles drive by eating here (or any restaurant within the 17 miles). The view of the golf course on the coastline makes for a very soothing and relaxing lunch break. We will definitely come back if visit the area again in the future.

“Authentic great Italian cuisine!!!”
Reviewed 22 July 2014

Peppoli is by far one of my most favorite restaurants!!! The menu is authentic, northern Italian prepared by Chef Angela with the finest of product and ingredients. Most all of the pastas are fresh pasta, exceptional! The meats are roasted on the open routisserie --- amazing flavors. The waitstaff is exceptional, expecially Paige...she is so knowledgeable on the menu and a level 2 somm! The Antinori wines are impressive and always a treat! This restaurant, by far, offers amazing food, service, wines and OH BY THE WAY...the room is beautiful with a view of the Monterey Bay!!! Be sure to call ahead for a reservation and enjoy this jewell!

“Great food , views and service”
Reviewed 29 June 2014

I read a review from this site over a year ago. It was great and I even asked for the server , Page from the review. Food is really good with 1/2 pasta portion or full. Steaks and fish with great appetizers. It's not cheap but you are paying for ambiance . I would recommend sharing plates so you try the whole menu. Try the fries for sure. Veal Parmesan is a massive piece and their fillet ravioli is great. The steaks are massive . In respect to our server Page, she is fantastic. She knows her wines and will guide to the menu so you could find good values on the wine instead of most expensive one. Lastly show up before sun goes down . Ocean and golf views make up for your for tab .

“Terrific experience!”
Reviewed 19 June 2014

Three of us recently went to dinner at Peppoli for a birthday celebration and we were not disappointed. We had a window table with a clear view of the ocean and watched a beautiful sunset as our dinner progressed over the course of the next 2 1/2 hours. (Look for the delightful small white-tailed rabbits that romp and jump on the lawn right in front of the windows; and no, they do not serve rabbit on the menu.) Our server Paige was delightful and made our dinner experience relaxing and non-rushed. My arugula, shaved artichokes, portabellini mushrooms in a lemon-truffle vinaigrette was tasty and fulfilling. But the roasted peaches with burrata salad was even better. The pasta courses are available in both a small portion or entrée size, which is much appreciated since Italian dinners can easily run 4-5 courses. The Pappardelle Bolongnese was fantastic, and came with slowly simmered boar ragu ($17.50 for small portion). The lasagna was also delicious (stuffed with filet mignon!). If there was any disappointment it was the grilled swordfish, which did not match up to the pasta courses in taste or presentation. The atmosphere is wonderful, the service terrific, and we even spotted a former Secretary of State sitting a table away from us. We will be back again. (If you have a birthday person in your party, they will print their name right on the menu and present it to them as a memento of the evening.)
