“Don't go there!”
Reviewed 8 February 2014

The food was average but too small portions. When we asked for more potatoes (we only got 1,5 really small ones) the waiter said that they were out of potatoes and didn't give us anything instead. The waitress was cocky and rude. And when we were about to leave the staff was eating staff-food with potatoes. Listen to my advise don't go here they ruined our evening.

“Le Bistro Is Petite and Perfect in Petaluma”
Reviewed 20 January 2014

We recently ate at Le Bistro and hadn't been in for quite a while. The place is still very small, but the food is outstanding. We had a wonderful pan seared halibut with crisp vegetables and a lovely beurre blanc.

The quality of the ingredients and preparation of the meal showed attention to detail and care. The fish was perfectly prepared, with crisp exterior and juicy, flakey flesh. The fish was napped with the beurre blanc sauce, made with butter and a dash of white wine. It was a very satisfying entrée. Our companions had pork medallions in a reduction sauce--also wonderful. The dessert was an expresso ice cream torte with a rich chocolate glaze. A wonderful ending to our meal.

The prices are very reasonable for the high quality of the food. Le Bistro is a special spot.

“Fantasic Food, Atmosphere, Great Prices”
Reviewed 27 September 2013

Maybe I'm getting old, but our grilled lamb tenderloin with port reduction sause may be the best French dinner I've had since leaving Paris 25 years ago. It may be up there with Bistro 45 in Pasadena, but the smallness gives it more intimacy.

The wait staff were friendly and attentive. We were there on a Wednesday night, around 6:00, without reservations. We were staying at the Metro Hotel & Cafe, just two blocks away. We were going to walk and peek in at different restaurants, but as soon as we crossed the threshold, we knew we had found our spot!

The wine list is small, but affordable and of good quality.

As I said, the lamb tenderloin was incredible. And Chef Corey is cooking in the midst of the diners, so you can get a first-hand look at (and smell the aroma of) the other dishes as well.

Next time we're driving north on the 101, I'm going out of my way to dine here again!
