Came out to Pismo Beach for our 10th wedding anniversary looking for an upscale restaurant for dinner. Found this place on yelp with good reviews, and the menu looked really good, too. So we decided to try it out.
Food, service and location were top notch. Our server, Corey, was super attentive and very personable. He made our night that much better.
Like I said, location is awesome. It's right on the beach with lots of large windows. They also have an outdoor seating area with large window panes that was awesome for viewing the sunset. Only complaint is the hotel/restaurant looks pretty outdated. Carpet on the elevator walls??
Anyway, we started with the oysters Rockefeller, which were very good. We shared the sea venture and a petite filet for dinner. Their signature dish is a mix of fish, shrimp, scallops, clams, mussels, and local sausage with saffron rice, and an aromatic tomato fume - delicious!! I highly recommend it - and sharing was perfect. They brought us out two full bowls and at first thought they'd ordered two servings - but no, the dish was so big that splitting it in two was still more than enough for the two of us. With a little room left, we splurged and had the bananas foster - OMG soooo good!!! It's three scoops of banana's foster ice cream over banana bread with sliced bananas, strawberries, pecans and caramel sauce flamed table-side with Bacardi 151. An experience to remember!!
Thank you Corey, and The Sea Venture, for making our anniversary that much better!!
