On the outside this little inn looks ordinary, but look inside! This was a darling room with nice wooden floors and decorative rugs. Everything was amazingly upscale. The huge bed was so comfortable. Location wonderful - walking distance to beach and the best fish and chips ever eaten next door. Give this a try! You will be glad! Also very nice friendly lady hostess! Thanks! My husband and I were so impressed with this Inn. We parked our car in our slot and didn't have to move it the whole 2 days we were there. Everything was in walking distance like 1 minute; beach, restaurants. Grace, the lady who runs it, was a delight! The room was immaculate, loved the Keurig coffee maker. I can't say enough about this place.

We liked the interior of our room (#1) during a recent 2-night weekend stay at the BeachComber Inn. This room was good-sized, immaculate and appeared to be recently remodeled. Its many amenities included a kitchenette with a small refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker; filtered drinking water; a small gas wall heater, billed as a fireplace; ample storage space; a safe; a 32" flat-screen HDTV; a tub/shower combo with great pressure and plenty of hot water; and free wi-fi.

But when we book a room, we expect to be able to relax peacefully there whenever we want and to sleep well at night. This was impossible during our stay.

The inn's seven rooms are on a second level, set up motel style with entry doors that open from a well-worn outside concrete walkway. Our room -- at the end of the walkway -- was by a busy street that featured vehicular noise with accompanying gas fumes. Music blared from an establishment across the street. Conversations of passersby could be clearly heard, even with the windows closed. The area became quiet, though, around 10 p.m. One night, however, we awakened to a man below repeatedly yelling obscenities. Another night found noisy guests in the room next to ours with one man screaming over and over at 2 a.m. We also heard slamming doors.

A street-cleaning vehicle slowly rumbled by at 6 a.m. both mornings of our stay. After it passed, it added insult to injury by turning around and retracing its route on the opposite side of the street.

It was even less relaxing to look at the view of the sea from our window -- a sea of vehicles filling two massive parking lots. The odor of fish and chips frying in a nearby eatery rode the breeze into the window on the other side of the room.

The room's king-size mattress offered little support. Both nights we found ourselves repeatedly rolling into the center of the bed and awakening. Our backs ached badly each morning.

No one cleaned the room during our stay. We do not know if this is standard procedure for short-term guests, because we saw no written information about policy and the owner said nothing about this during our brief check-in.

The wi-fi proved to be extremely slow and we could not even log on our last morning. This was a drawback for us, because we needed to have access to the Internet for work-related activities.

If you don't mind noise and like to be in the center of activities as well as just a block from the beach, then this lodging may work for you. And the atmosphere may be substantially different during the off-season. But we felt the room was not worth $189 (plus 11 percent tax) for each of our sleep-interrupted nights.

My husband and I were taking a drive on PCH and stopped in Pismo for a night. All of the hotels directly on the beach were insanely expensive and crowded. We saw Beachcomber Inn and were immediately impressed by Grace(owner). She gave us a discount due to the fact that we arrived late(8ish) and gave us the most amazing room. It was impeccably clean(I have ocd) and the hotel had just been remodeled with great attention to detail(granite, limestone, magnifying makeup mirrors, copper sink, Keurig coffee machine, mini fire place...etc.). Fresh flowers and on the go breakfast goodies were available for guests as well. I cannot say enough about the amazing quality of this Inn!

6 of us including 2 kids stayed here last weekend. I had booked two rooms last month after reading reviews on TripAdvisor. I must say I was so happy I did so. The inn is awesome, fantastic spacious rooms, ever better was Grace the inn keeper. She was so welcoming and helpful, she made our check in FUN !!

The property is in the heart of where the action is in Pismo Beach. 2 min away walking is the beach and all eateries etc are located within 1-2 min.

This is a hidden gem and if you are heading out to Pismo try your luck one of the 7 rooms they have !!

We were really impressed by the BeachComber Inn. It's an unassuming building, but Room #1 was lovely and had everything we could have wanted. What really set the place apart, though, was the innkeeper. Grace was very personable and engaging, and made sure we had everything we needed. During my stay, one of us had a serious insect sting on the foot which looked like it might need professional medical attention. Grace couldn't have been more helpful with useful advice and very kind and helpful assistance.

I'd strongly recommend it as a stopping point just before or after big sur, or if you just want to stay in a nice little seaside town.

We absolutely loved this hotel because the room was impeccable with all you could need. Beautiful high quality decor and fixtures with a little gas fireplace that serves as the heater! They even Have a keurig and a kitchen sink with filtered water to drink! The bed was super comfy with plenty of bedding. Grace the manager was so sweet and she even shared some of her pizza from a local place with us! The price we paid was off season which was an awesome deal and it was worth every penny.
The only drawback (a small one) is that it is listed on trip advisor as a B and B, but the breakfast consisted of cookies and Danishes. At least they were from local bakeries, so that's a plus. We knew this ahead of time so we brought a few things to eat for breakfast.
It is close to everything so you can walk to beach, shops and restaurants. So you know it overlooks one of the main streets so there is a bit of street noise from people, cars and music playing. Once we were ready to sleep we couldn't hear a thing. We will be back again because the stay couldn't have been any better!
