The Kon Tiki Inn is situated on a bluff overlooking the ocean, right off of Highway 101. We have stayed here many times and always fine the Kon Tiki Inn very accomodating. The rooms are updated and quite comfortable and every room has a patio/balcony and FULL view of the ocean. The breakfast room has been expanded and is more than adequate. We appreciate the friendliness of the employees, and they each do their best to make our stay pleasant. Parking is in view of the room and is secure. No complaints. We will be returning.

Good location with nice views from room and balcony. Very reasonable rates. Guy at front desk was very pleasant. No problems at all and would stay again.

The Kon-Tiki Inn is awesomely situated with a panoramic view of miles of coastline from every room, but walking down 114 steps to the beach is prohibitive for older guests. Of course, being elevated adds to the magnificent view...
The staff are wonderful. The rooms are immaculately clean and very comfortable. The televisions are just okay and could be replaced with nicer flat-screens, but in so beautful a place any time spent watching would be wasted.
The wide choice offered at breakfast is perfect except for those who insist on their bacon and eggs. The only improvement would be coffee a mite stronger and more flavorful...
Pismo Beach is a great little beach town and the Kon-Tiki Inn, a short distance (easily walked) from downtown crowds, is the perfect place to stay.

we planned our family trip 2 months in advance with this establishment, stayed in contact with them for tips and entertainment purposes. they were fully aware of our itinerary and how many were coming and when we get there they come up and tell us we will have to leave, but we can stay until morning but be gone by tomorrow. we told them, on our itinerary we had 2 teenagers with us , they said it would be an extra $20 for the extra kid we said fine we went to pay the weeks difference and they kicked us out anyway . they said for the extra kid, we would in the end have to pay for an extra room for the week to house one extra teen, a teen by himself no way , when they said we could initially just pay for the teen to stay in the room, they changed there mind . Horribble horrible office management, they watch their cameras and tell you are doing things wrong, that you and youre children never even did . we were wronged so badly by this establishment . i cant tell you how bad it ruined our financial area because we so abruptly asked to leave, after paying in advance and getting a good advance rate , we had to leave and pay full rate somewhere else after they kicked us out . if you do go here be aware dont bring kids, and watch the cameras because no matter what you do they are watching you , kind of spooky . Dont get the wrong idea about us we are a couple with 2 kids , thats it and we were subjected to this kind of mismanagement , totally wronged by the KonTiki . nice place, but there is better and cheaper , thanks to the best western for youre last minute help , and hospitable staff , and nicer rooms with the same amenities and better view we feel

When a guest has reservations for four persons, and at check-in they confirm four persons, we provide accommodations for four. When they later acknowledge there are five persons, and we then find there are six – as happened in this case – we offer connecting rooms to accommodate them. If the guest is unwilling to pay more for the larger accommodations, they are asked to find lodging elsewhere. Many of our guests have expressed their appreciation for the added level of security which is provided for them and their belongings by the cameras which monitor our parking lots.

I've stayed at pretty much every hotel in Pismo and this one is my favorite. I'ts not by any means the ritziest and does not have all the amenities of some of the higher dollar hotels but there is a feeling of tranquility the minute you pull into the parking lot. I have spent $300-$400 a night for other rooms in town and I would choose Kon Tiki even if it was the same price. Beautiful clean rooms, PERFECT location and incredible views. I LOVE this place.

Great hotel! Super friendly staff. Room was OK, not amazing, but clean and fairly modern. The outdoor hot tubs are very nice and we met some fellow travellers out there at night. We had a great stay.

So I was looking for a hotel with a reasonable price tag but where I wasn't sacrificing location. This hotel takes the cake. The rooms are large (although the bathroom wasn't), and clean if a little dated. But as soon as I opened the sliding glass door to the balcony, it was all worthwhile. Every room has an ocean view. I requested a third floor (top story) room so that I could have the best view possible, and was definitely not disappointed. We slept with the sliding door cracked so that we could wake up to the sounds of the ocean. For the price, I couldn't have asked for anything more. The hot tubs are nice, and overlook the ocean. The hotel staff was very helpful as well. I hit them with question after question about restaurants, outdoor activities and hikes, where to go wine-tasting, even where to watch a Lakers game in HD in the town! They were very helpful, and patient as well. The free continental breakfast didn't look very good, so we didn't hang around for breakfast, but I'm not a fan of Farmers Bros coffee (yep I'm a snob)... but for those who are looking for a simple breakfast (fruit, cereal, bagels, etc) then this should work for you... I need some steak and eggs in the morning! The location is great; you can walk along the beach to go to "the strip" and get food or go shopping, and you're far enough from the pier that you don't have to worry about all of the crowds. Unless you want to pay more for Dolphin Cove or The Cliffs, this is the best hotel in Pismo.
