We spent some time at this resort in late September with our 6 year old son. We stayed in an Oceanfront Corner Suite. The suite was amazing! It was as large as a condo!

The staff at the front desk were extremely courteous and polite. The valet went beyond the call of duty each day to inquire as to whether we needed anything "Ritz style". The check in was seamless. The suite was gorgeous with beautiful decor from the crown mouldings to the beautiful artificial plants making it feel very cozy! The fully equipped kitchen was wonderful with a full size fridge, oven, stove, microwave, kettle, tupperwares, pyrex set, bowls, hard plastic cup and jug set, different size drinking glasses sets, cutlery, all sizes of plates and bowls, pots and pans and all cooking utensils. There were wash clothes, Palmolive, and a dishwasher.

There was a laundry closet with a stackable washer/dryer, iron, and security safe. There was a dining room with a table for 4 (which could easily seat more) and another table right next to it outside as you open the sliding glass doors. There was a full size living room with nice resort like furnishings and another patio that opened towards the ocean with nice chairs outside. Both the bedroom and the living room had TVs. The bedroom had a walk in closet that was very very large! The only thing that did surprise me was the size of the bathroom in comparison to the entire suite. With such a large suite one would expect a jacuzzi tub bath and large bathroom, but more space was dedicated to the closet?? The bathroom was simply too small, and only had one vanity sink. The bed was comfortable, although it was hard to sleep with all the wedding music going on outside.

The swimming pool is your standard hotel/motel pool (not resort like by any means) but kept clean. The beach down below was quite messy with lots of unswept seaweed and a seal carcass that had thousands on flies on it, so we avoided the beach there.

The resort is in a beautiful location removed from the hustle and bustle of crowded Pismo Beach which is quite relaxing. We will return one day.

We stayed at DB on November 23...my birthday! We had an OCEAN FRONT corner suite on the north end of the second floor. The suites here are HUGE, and we LOVE LOVE LOVE that! Full granite and stainless kitchen complete with full size refrigerator, dishwasher, and coffeemaker. There was even a clothing dryer in our suite! The teens slept on the pull out in the living room in front of the fireplace, and our bedroom had not one, but two walk-in closets! Every detail and every amenity! This place is one of our favorites! The teens walked down to the tide pools that night and the next morning. They couldn't get enough! My husband and I ate breakfast at Lido, the onsite restaurant and had one of the best breakfasts ever!! The girls ordered room service, and my daughters friend had never had room service before. When I returned to the suite, I asked how she liked it, and in typical teen-girl fashion, she didn't miss a beat when she said, "oh, it was LOVELY, and it came with a side of cute boy!"

If you stay here, do what we've done both times...Walk two blocks south to DePalo market! We bought everything from cheeses and pasta salads and wine and macaroons! We did dinner hors d'oeuvres style at our dining room table, and had the perfect stay!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

The Pismo Beach Hotel and Spa is truly one of the best hotels we have stayed in. This is our fourth or fifth visit and each time just gets better!! From the front desk staff to the valet, everyone is incredibly accommodating and friendly. Fruit and wine upon arrival and a battery pack to start a rental car, the staff and hotel are first class!! Lido Restaurant food and service are excellent as well and should not be missed. Rooms are condo like with full kitchens, large bedrooms and baths. Of course the ocean front rooms are the preferred accomodation, but all rooms are beautiful. This is a place for family, couples, and friends to enjoy . We will return again and again, truly a resort not to be missed on the Central California coast!,

Room Tip: Ocean front is incredibly beautiful!

Stayed here for four nights with my husband towards the end of a six week touring holiday of western USA as I'd thought it would be pleasant to relax by the sea for a while before returning to the UK. And it was, I wanted to move in permanently! Joking aside, it was probably the largest holiday apartment we had stayed in on our tour. Good TVs and enjoyed being able to get HBO as not everywhere provides this. Very clean, beautiful kitchen, excellent tea and coffee provided. I'd requested an apartment not facing the sea as it was cheaper, and enjoyed taking lunch on our balcony in the sun which was quite private because of the shrubs etc. We did a lot of walking from here along the beach and through housing developments to the next town to the north. (there's a particularly good ridge walk with tremendous views) Each afternoon we borrowed beach chairs and towels from reception and walked down to the beach: not too hot but very pleasant to sit watching waves and seals. Also enjoyed some fine sunsets in the evenings. Staff were excellent: friendly, helpful and genuine. Loved this place and strongly recommend.

My dousing and I are both divorced and our kids are grown. Neither of us wanted to be the orphan at the Thanksgiving events of very generous friends so we ended up at the Dolphin Bay Resort for the Thanksgiving holiday.

PERFECT! We didn't have to do a thing. The first night we had planned to stay somewhere else, but it was awful and Dolphin Bay accommodated us with a suite. Or should I say, luxury condo. From the minute we arrived, we were not allowed to do anything, park our car, move our luggage, do our own dishes. The room was really quality. Everyone was super nice.

We had Thanksgiving dinner at the Lido on the property. I had the best prepared seafood I have ever eaten, and I live in the San Francisco Bay Area where seafood is done well.

I loved this place. I loved our stay. And I would go back in a heartbeat.

Room Tip: All are great!

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at the Dolphin Bay in a wonderful one bedroom ocean front suite and cannot say enough about this lovely, well maintained property and stunning location. We were visiting California and had arrived from Santa Barbara. My choice was for an ocean front property that would allow up to travel to nearby areas like Morro Bay, Cambria, San Simeon and up to the beginning of the Big Sur area and Dolphin Bay fit the bill perfectly.
The condo itself is lovely with a great kitchen and bathroom. We had a unit with a gas fireplace and enjoyed this as the weather got a bit cool while we were there. We visited midweek and the property was very quiet which we enjoyed. Being New Englanders, high 60s didn't deter us from enjoying the pool and hot tub and sitting our on large ocean front balcony enjoying the perfect views. The pool was warm enough for a dip and the hot tub was a perfect temp. We also walked the pathway and took the steps down to the beach below to get a closer look at the surfers.

We returned from our walk, planning to enjoy a little wine on the balcony before heading to dinner, and were delighted to find a beautiful fresh fruit tray on the counter with a welcome note. Later that night we picked up packets of microwave popcorn to enjoy with a movie before we retired to a very comfortable bed.

My one tiny little complaint is a silly one and not one that would ever deter me from rebooking this fabulous property: the blinds in the bedroom cannot be opened to enjoy the ocean view. There are blinds/ shades on each of the large windows in the condo that allow you the choice of looking through and seeing the filtered views or closing the slats, to give you full privacy. They are great but wish the ones in the bedroom could be pulled open like those near the patio doors to allow a full view rather than a filtered one.

This condo is a great property. I would definitely consider returning with my kids and their husbands/ sig other. It's in a great location for visiting other sites along the California coast and located right off highway 101.

Room Tip: Def choose the ocean front option with balcony.
