We stayed here for only one night during a family road trip from San Francisco to San Diego. We loved this resort and we wish we could've stayed longer.

We enjoyed a huge two-queen ocean view suite. Clean, nothing outdated or aging, it was wonderful.

The only odd thing about the room, however, was the placement of the shower. I mention this only to caution anyone who might be overly shy. The shower is not in a bathroom behind closed doors,
but rather is in full view of the rest of the room. There is no shower door, just a white shower curtain. The curtain is opaque from floor to about collarbone height and then is sheer above that. In other words, anyone in the room can see your head (or more, depending on your height) and you can see them. I didn't have a problem with this, staying with my wife and young teen kids. While it's not the privacy we're used to, we were definitely able to maintain our modesty by snagging a towel off the adjacent towel rack, drying off in the shower and walking out wrapped in a towel.

The Jacuzzi tub is totally out in the open. My daughter wanted to take a bath so she did so in her bathing suit.

But we adjusted to these charming quirks, they weren't problems for us.

The views and sounds of the Pacific were amazing from our balcony. An interesting beach is just down the steps ... but you should realize that a hotel called The Cliffs sports a lot of steps down to the beach, 92 of them to be exact. It was worth every step.

Every staff person we came in contact with was friendly and eager to please.

I live within view of the Atlantic Ocean, but when I want to see the Pacific again I'll definitely stay at The Cliffs again.

CleveRocks ~ Thank you so much for your review, and we're honored that you feel our views of the Pacific are on par with yours at home of the Atlantic. You are absolutely right, our suites, while they have extra space which is appreciated by families, don't provide a lot of privacy in the shower area. We try to make this very clear at the time of reservation so our guests can make the choice of privacy or space and views. I am happy to hear that you and your family were well taken care of by our staff, we look forward to welcoming you back on your next trip to California!
Take care, Stephanie

Overall a great resort with a nice pool and grounds, great views with beach access, rooms were also nice. Free valet parking which was nice. There is also a restaurant on the resort. Did not eat there but ordered a few drinks and the bar service was good.

The Cliffs hotel is a nice place to stay, with a wonderful view while visiting the central coast. We stayed while visiting Cal Poly. Upgrade to a ocean view if you can. We originally were in a partial ocean view which really had no view, but when we notified the front desk that we had no wifi reception they upgraded us to a ocean view.

AKC66 ~ I'm sorry that your wifi connection wasn't working, but I'm glad our Front Desk was able to fix the situation. Even better that you were able to enjoy an ocean view. I can't recommend Cal Poly enough, if you are looking at colleges, we have many employees who are students or graduates and it is a great school!
Take care, Stephanie

The Cliffs Resort was wonderful. My husband and I had a long weekend away and found everything we needed to relax. The view was first and foremost perfect. We slept every night listening to the waves crash onto the beach below us. The bed was beyond comfortable, which can really ruin a trip if otherwise! We felt very taken care of by the staff. Our car was always ready when needed and our meals were fantastic. The Central Coast is such a magical place and staying at the Cliffs was the icing on the cake!

We stayed here again and always like a room away from pool activity to just chill in the room and enjoy the great ocean views. This was another relaxing stay with a clean and quiet room with large bathroom and tub. The staff is always very friendly and attentive and the rooms have always been consistently good - this is one of our favorite getaway spots.

We usually have a late breakfast downstairs and the buffet breakfast is really good. The wait staff is always attentive and willing to help if you with a special request. The manager of the restaurant is always walking around and checking on people - the same guy has been there quite a while. The food has always been good, tasty and fresh. We love the large buffet choices with omelet bar and waffles. There is also a nice patio to eat your breakfast on or enjoy happy hour and watch the sunset.

Travelin M ~ It sounds like you had a relaxing stay with us, thank you for taking the time to share it! I am so glad you have enjoyed breakfast or a cocktail on the patio, that view can't be beat! David, in the restaurant, loves taking time to chat with our guests and it sounds like he has taken good care of you.
