“Good Value”
Reviewed 27 April 2011

On first sight I was a little skeptical of this hotel. It looked a little run down from the outside but was pleasantly surprised on the inside. The ladies at the front desk were extremely helpful. Rooms were relatively clean. I doubt whether the cleaning service vacuums under the beds since my son found someone's dirty sock underneath the bed. The air conditioner was very loud. Location is fantastic. Very close to downtown Pismo and close to a shopping strip.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the pool can get noisy.

We stayed here over easter break. I have no complaints at all. Quiet at night comfy beds. Big clean suites. The grounds are very pretty and very clean. Will diffently go back again.

Okay, the room was decent, very clean. TV in both bedroom and living area. The hot water was out for a day and they discounted the room 50%. The location was near the freeway and was noisy in our second room (because of water). Pet friendly they are not. We took our 2 dogs as we always do when traveling. This was first place we've stayed to accept pets and apparently expect you to stay in your room with them 24/7 or board them. The staff was quite nasty and unhelpful in finding other lodging. We were fortunate to have a friend whom took them during the day so we could actually do something. One evening two dogs outside were barking and going at it for at least 10 minutes. Guess that is okay with establishment, just don't let your animals make a peep from the room. Over the week contact with staff showed little interest in their guests. Never saw a smile on one face the whole time. Breakfast comes with room and was pretty good. Eggs, bacon, pancakes, oatmeal and cereals. If traveling to San Luis Obispo County, ask if you can leave your pets in room. Not a pet friendly area.

Location was great, right off the freeway. Not too far from the beach. Free parking. The breakfast was decent and so was the evening reception. The rooms were of a nice size and UPDATED (two flat screen tvs, dvd, and granite counters). I was really impressed. It was not noisy at all. They have a computer that is available for the guest to use. I felt we got more than what we paid for and we paid under $100. I would stay here again.

My husband and I LOVE the Oxford Suites, Pismo Beach. We’ve stayed there four times, and I’m sure we’ll be back. We take lots of vacations with our dog, but we’ve seldom found anything comparable to the comfort and delightful atmosphere that the Oxford Suites provide.

Very few negatives--

Yes, the fan is a bit noisy, but not any more so than most hotel/motel fans. And, yes, you can sometimes hear people in the adjoining suites, but there seems to be reasonable sound-proofing. If you want total silence, perhaps you should rent a cabin or look for a detached unit somewhere. And, yes, there are dogs on the premises. For pet owners, the OS is a fabulous find. (And, by the way, everyone picks up after their animals. I’ve never seen dog droppings in an inappropriate place.)

The rest is all positive--

The breakfast features eggs, bacon sausage, pancakes, fruit, toast, yogurt, hash browns. At certain hours, the breakfast room is busy, but I never had to wait in line. Everything is well-organized, and the food is substantial and quite good. In the evening there is a generous Happy Hour with free wine, beer, fruit juice and soft drinks, plus a main dish, soup, appetizer, veggies, chips, and dip. I have a hearty appetite and several times we’ve skipped dinner after enjoying this wonderful mini-meal. (If you do go out, try the Golden Moon for Chinese cuisine.)

Our room had hardwood floors, a mirror with bright lighting (a rarity in hotels), a small microwave, coffee maker, hair dryer, two beautiful wooden chests of drawers, extra pillows and blankets, a coffee table a dining table, two television sets, and two comfortable sofas. The bed was very comfortable and we slept soundly. Our rooms were immaculate and everything worked well, as it always has in the past. The well-manicured lawns give everything a spacious, natural feel. The staff was friendly and helpful and very solicitous of our dog.

Believe me, I’m in no way connected with Oxford Suites. I’ve reviewed other lodging and I don’t give everything such a positive review. But I do think, for the price, the Oxford Suites in Pismo Beach is one of the best.

Stayed here over the weekend with my wife and kids. It was a great place and is on our "keeper" list. The staff was great, the rooms were clean and the value for the stay was great. The room came with breakfast which was convenient and added to the value. The breakfast had a good variety, but wasn't something to rave about.

My teenage daughter and I took our two small dogs to Pismo and this place was an excellent value! Many hotels in the area require a 2 night stay on the weekend. Oxford Suites allowed us to stay just one night. The fee for the pets was only $25.
The Suite had a living room with wood, or laminate, floor, sofa, large flat screen TV, refrigerator, sink and microwave. Bedroom had 2 comfy beds, a long countertop with another flat screen TV and sink. There was a sliding door to separate the rooms. Outside there was a fenced dog run with supplies for cleaning up after them.
Upon registration you receive coupons for Happy Hour drinks and Breakfast Buffet meals.
The location is closer to Arroyo Grande and it is right off the 101. Easy to find, Also just down the frontage road from the Outlets!
Manhattan Pizza, just up the hill off of Oak Park Rd is a great dinner! Delicious!
All in all it was a great stay. Next time I think we will opt for 2 nights, just because it was so relaxing!
We will be using this hotel every time we go to Pismo!
