The facility was busy with tourists, families, and tour groups. The rooms were clean and ample. The shower actually had enough water pressure (which isn't always the case with hotels). Considering much of Pismo shuts down at hours, it's nice that they provide complimentary happy hour drinks along with a soup & salad bar. They also BBQ by the pool nightly and its a pretty good value and tasty! The complimentary breakfast was surprisingly plentiful.

I would recommend staying on the 2nd floor to avoid any foot traffic overhead.

The pool and hot tub is at the heart of the complex. Its close to restaurants, the freeway, the beach, shopping, etc. We didn't even hear the traffic. The downside was that housekeeping was terribly slow and we had to wait a couple hours for our room to be ready at check-in. Also, when we called to have the proper number of bath towels delivered to our room, I was told by the front desk that "they are quite busy now so if you want them, you should come down and get them."

Even with the semi-lousy service, we would likely stay there again because of the value, cleanliness, and activities.

Room Tip: Stay on the 2nd floor to avoid foot traffic. Away from the pool area would be quieter.

For the space, service, amenities, and location the price was surprisingly low. A cantina, two pools and a jacuzzi, a full breakfast, several grassy areas and tables to relax. The office has a snack shop. The clientele consisted of families, long term stays for work, and many were repeat customers. I would stay here again!

OK, so a VERY Decent place to stay. EXCELLENT for the price. These suites are not as big or as nice as an Embassy Suites, but they are a FAR better value. We paid about $125/night. This included a pet fee, Breakfast for four and evening drinks for four. We also had a patio with chairs to relax on. Its proximity to the beach is the only drawback (about a mile away), but it is right off the freeway, so access up and down the coast is a no brainier! I wouldn't bring the wife here for a romantic getaway, but I would bring the family and dog back.

Very comfortable, clean and accessible. EVERY staff member that we ran across, went out of their way to greet me(us), every time! Again the place to stay with pets!

BTW, this stay started off with a two hour delay at check in...understandable for a Saturday check in, in the middle of summer! A bit of an inconvenience, especially with the dog...but it turned out fine!

Room Tip: some garden bottom floors have a patio, nice way to extend the room.

Oxford suites served as a great stop off point for our California road trip.

The location was great: easy access straight off freeway, and right next to a shopping complex, restaurants and gas stations. We enjoyed having the microwave and fridge in the room as we ate in quite a bit.

The room was simple but had everything we needed. There was some noise from the pool as we were just in front of it but the pool area closed at 10 so this didn't affect our sleep. That said, I would still recommend getting a room away from the pool if you're not travelling with kids.

The pool area itself was nice and clean with lots of seats, and there was also a little gym with a TV which we only discovered on our last day.

Breakfast was great (loved the onion bagels!) and Jose did a wonderful job of keeping a busy restaurant running smoothly!

Room Tip: Away from the pool area if not travelling with kids!

NASTY!!! DISAPPOINTING!!! OVER PRICED!!! Where do I begin??? This was an annual girls trip that was anything but pleasant at this hotel. First off the lobby was nice and remodeled sometime in the past few years. It was clean. Our stay began with appetizers and 2 drinks per person. And we were told the children received 2 drinks as well although they were not allowed into the cantina. We were fine with this. Although when we ordered the drinks for kids we were told 1 per person which meant someone was left out cux you needed the ticket. The manager stated each ticket was worth 2 drinks. However, when we went to get the drinks we were told 1 per person (with eyes rolling in disgust" and then we were told and I quote "The people are telling me the coke is out but u can still have 1." Soda was flatter than paper and didn't taste any better. Bartender was too busy flirting with the MEN at the bar to change it out. Either that or too lazy to do so. And the appetizers!!! UMMM NO!!! We were told salad, chili, chips, salsa and soup. Never found the chili. And "oh is that the salad??" Wilted and hot. Lettuce and dressing only is what they call salad. Soup tastes better at the homeless shelter. This is just check-in. Moving to the room. The sofa sleeper did not sleep 2 as the staff said it did. When I opened the sofa I found a ripped mattress that was probably original to the building and so stained I was sure I was in an evidence locker. Not to mention the mattress on the sofa sleeper had mice droppings on it. When I moved the sofa there was more evidence of mice behind it. I called the manager and got a newer mattress. The floors were dirty. Ceiling tiles in bathroom were moldy and was not ceramic tile but chalk-like tiles. Breakfast is a joke. 1st you pay for the room which I would think gets you the breakfast but you needed a ticket to get food. FORGET the buffet part. You get 1 plate of cold food for your ticket. Want 2nds?? Too bad!!! Menu stated French toast instead I got pancakes(at least that's what they called them). Eggs were tough and cold. Sad thing is they were making eggs and pancakes as they went. Not sure why they were cold. Staff was RUDE. Cookies and fruit were available at 4pm but you had too ask for them and heaven forbid you asked for a child to get a hot cookie. They acted like it was the last 1 on earth. Only good thing about this hotel was check-out. And THAT was simply because I didn't have to go back. I will never stay here again. My group was highly disappointed as we were looking forward to a nicer place to vacation. Being next door to Motel 6 doesn't help. But this place was nothing more than an overpriced motel 6. I have stayed in many hotels in Pismo Beach but none as nasty as this one. I would have gave it a ZERO but that wasn't possible. It IS close to the shopping center with Walmart and the outlets are within walking distance but I would rather drive to these shops and have a clean room elsewhere.

Room Tip: Stay Somewhere Else

We thought it was a great value overall. The location is convenient – right off the freeway and shops are within walking distance. The beach is only minutes away. To our surprise, we got the evening reception deal although it was on a Sunday night at a reduced rate! (It is not usually included on Sunday nights.) We gladly munched on the salad and veggie beef soup and decided to purchase a tri-tip sandwich BBQ'd right there at the poolside. We weren't very hungry so that took care of our dinner and saved us a trip to a restaurant. We thought 2 free wines per person was pretty generous. The bartender and people helping at the evening reception were very friendly and pleasant. The room was spacious with a separate sitting area that helped us feel more relaxed and the bed was very comfortable, too. Our room backed the freeway but with the door closed we didn't hear any noise and slept well. A/C worked very well - the room was cold as we first walked in so we had to raise the temperature! The breakfast was decent. The coffee in the lobby was better, though (they had the coffee in the lobby day and night). The pool was small and there were kids all the time so we didn't use it. Wished we could use the jacuzzi but it was too crowded as well. Well, hello, it's summer time and lots of kids/families are around..... At least we got that free evening reception deal maybe because it was summer. We would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: There is no elevator.

The rooms are clean & comfy beds. We stayed in the king suite which had a separate room with tv refrigerator & sofa sleeper. The manager reception was quaint & food was cooked on a BBQ outside the bar-cook made great tacos. Breakfast was nice portions a bit small though. I would definitely stay here again - good value.

Room Tip: Far south end on 2nd floor
