We spent 2 nights here during a week end which might explain the very lively atmosphere. The room was spacious and traveling with 4 people, it was good to have a separate living room for once.
We were a bit skeptic concerning the breakfast included in the price because we had seen some less than nourishing hotel "breakfasts" on our trip but this was a really pleasant surprise. We got a full warm breakfast including eggs, bacon, ham and oatmeal, and as much bread/bagels etc as we wanted. We felt pretty well-nourished and did not need to find an extra breakfast place. This was the first place where Dutch coffee (Douwe-Egberts) was served and my Dutch husband remarked it immediately ("wow, the coffee is really good!"). Another nice surprise was the free glasses of wine that are offered in the early evening, along with appetizers (salad, chips, salsa). This is offered in the bar area.
For lack of time we did not try the pool which is located in the middle of the building complex. It must be nice to hang around there in the garden, socialize and watch your kids playing, though.
The beach was in walking distance but it takes around 15 minutes, some of that along the highway. The outlet centers, restaurants and a supermarket are about 5 minutes away (on foot).
Staff at reception and restaurant/bar was very friendly and helpful. We were a bit disappointed with the California coast but at least we were staying in a good place which partly compensated the fact of fog and chilly weather.

Room Tip: If you are sensitive to bathroom noise (filling/emptying bathtub etc) it would be good to take a roo...

We stayed here for two nights midweek, on our way from LA to San Francisco. The Oxford Inn and Suites was well kept and staff were genuine and friendly. The breakfast portions were massive and tasty. It was reassuring to see the certificates on the wall from the local environmental health saying how clean the kitchens are.

The wifi was shockingly bad, considering how many people choose a hotel on the basis of free wifi.

It was nice to be able to walk to the shopping outlets where we picked out some clothes, but the main Pismo Beach is a junction away on the freeway. The hotel is family friendly.

We booked this just for a one night stopover driving down the PCH. Checkin staff were helpful and friendly. Our room was very spacious and had everything we needed. It was a very busy weekend and the guests here were rather rowdy. The kids couldn't get to sleep on the sofa bed due to noise going on so we had to put them in the bedroom at the back and we slept on the sofa bed. My husband was about to complain when they finally stopped. Secondly wifi was painfully slow just couldnt even use it.
The location near the premium outlets was good and we popped in there after leaving hotel.

Overall this hotel was perfectly fine for what we required and for the price. I'm giving it 3 due to the noise but we may have just been unlucky with our neighbours and more sensitive due to having young kids.

We stayed for two nights in August 2013, on our way down the Pacific Coast Highway from San Francisco to Los Angeles. We had a room with a kingsize bed and a sofa-bed in the sitting room for the kids (11 and 9). The room was on the first floor. There was no lift, which meant lugging our baggage up the stairs. Very friendly and efficient on reception. The pool was heated and very popular with the kids. Breakfast was canteen style. We were given a ticket which we had to present to get our food. Very busy but reasonable. We ate there one night. There was a BBQ set up by the pool. The kids had burgers which they rated well. Husband liked the complimentary drinks and had my tickets too! The wifi was painfully slow, which was probably due to the hotel being at capacity. We were only booked in for one night initially but decided to stay an extra night to chill out on the beach and sample the amazing Clam Chowder at the Splash Cafe. Would definitely consider this hotel if we ever come back to the area.

Room Tip: Choose ground floor if stairs are a problem or you have a lot of luggage. There are no elevators.

My 2 grandkids and I stayed here last week for 2 days. I found the hotel to be very nice, a great bargain for the price. Would suggest asking a head of time for a ground floor room if you have poor knees, as there is no elevators. All the staff were very friendly and the room was comfortable and clean. Very family friendly with 2 pools, one a kiddie pool! Would have given it a 4 rating if there were stairs, as it is a little challenging for seniors with lots of baggage.

We stayed here for 1 night in August as a stop over from Beverly Hills to Yosemite. Two adults and two teenagers (14 and 17)

Very friendly check-in - we had forgotten about the complimentary breakfast for all four of us staying in a suite and also the free drinks that evening... So a pretty good start :-)

The room was quite small but very clean and tidy - and our luggage was quite big - no probs as the master bed was huge and sofa bed had a deep mattress...and we were only there for one night - the factory outlet was 1km down the road and had some great shops too.

Dinner was a BBQ affair - simple but ok for a quick snack. We didnt see any close-by (walking distance) restaurants. The hotel bar was full of locals and one guy was from Cardiff in Wales. Chatting to him, he reminded us about the need to book Alcatraz tickets weeks in advance - Thank You Sir! (our concierge in San Francisco at the Tuscan Inn was fantastic and pulled a few strings to get us booked for this tour with only 72 hours notice which would otherwise have been pretty disappointing for our kids).

The American breakfast was huge with really nice people serving it too but it was a bit unusual to have guest dogs roaming around the tables - this is normal in the US. What wasn't so pleasant was side-stepping a small 'dog gift' on the path back to our room :-) We too have a dog so I blame this on the owner not the hotel :-(

I would thoroughly recommend this place as it offers terrific value for money - well done Oxford Suites

BTW - it is about 1.3 miles to Pismo Beach

We bring our grandchildren and our Cocker Spaniel to Oxford Suites every year for the last 10 years. We all love it including the Cocker! Excellent place to stay if you have pets. They have very good prices for the Pismo area and a great breakfast is included. We use this hotel for our base and tour the surrounding beaches. At night they have complimentary happy hour and if you eat light, you could make this your dinner. Our grandchildren would not let up get away with that, so we ate out. Can't say enough great stuff about this hotel!

Room Tip: There is a Denny's next door and an outlet mall down the street.
