Very nice little hotel, with great views and good value for the money. Rooms basic but clean, nice little pool. Very nice local beach, accessed through rather steep path. Good place to stop if you are driving up/down the coast

Room Tip: All seem pretty good, but those near restaurant might be noisy at night

Our view was incredible. Spanning North and South along the coastline.

Our room was on the 2nd floor, room 214 (how romantic Feb 14 Valentine's Day). The room was clean, spacious with updated room furniture and bathroom. The balcony was newly rebuilt with a small table and chairs to provide a relaxing unobstructed panoramic view!

On the property along the bluff there is a walking path and green area with plenty of benches and chairs to sit and relax and enjoy the views. Our room overlooked this path.

The property was quiet in the evening with no sounds except for the ocean. The lobby staff were friendly and informative. Fresh cookies and fruit were on the front desk.

Best yet...the price. Low season price was $89 per night (plus taxes).

We did not eat in the restaurant (which has excellent ocean views) this trip but it seemed plenty busy.

Room Tip: Definitely choose a second floor room. It provides the best view of the ocean and surrounding area.

This is a beautiful spot on the coast. I'm a local, but have stayed here twice now, and go to the restaurant fairly regularly as well. Both are a great value. The rooms are great, and the views are to die for: our room looked out over the garden with a wide view of the ocean and Port San Luis. There's an excellent deli (De Palo & Sons) nearby, too.

I found this place quite by chance and how lucky we were. The location and the view are fantastic. The second floor room with a balcony gave us a view of the entire coast. A short walk to the beach with many tidepools.
An even shorter walk to the restaurant that offered a delicious breakfast special for guest. With this location we were so close to so many good restaurants. The staff here was great. They were very helpful in getting me the room that I wanted. Will definitely go back to this gem.

Room Tip: Ssk for a second floor ocean view with a balcony.

We stayed here because of the great rates and because they take dogs.
Many people had dogs with them, but the dogs do not interfere with other guests. There are three resorts on this bluff, and of the three Spyglass is the least expensive. So you are getting a great location at a good price.Private beach. Great dog beach, and many nice families and kids there. Everyone just enjoying the tidepools and the ocean. What a peaceful weekend.
Hotel rooms were fine, considering we were on the beach with sand and dogs, the rooms were amazingly clean and well kept.

Room Tip: There are ocean front rooms on the ground floor with would be great for a dog owner.

After a six hour drive in the rain on a California freeway, my niece and I checked into the Spyglass Inn in Pismo Beach (San Luis Obispo). To wake up in the morning and be able to watch the seagulls, the waves and the gorgeous coastline was perfect. The room was fabulous with wonderful beds. The restaurant attached was also very good and had a nice variety of foods to choose from. All in all, I'd stay there again in a heartbeat! If you have BCAA, the rates are great!

We booked two rooms for three nights, one for my wife and I, and another for my 19 year old daughter who loves to celebrate her birthday in Pismo Beach. Both rooms exceeded our expectations, and though we prefer ocean view, were quite satifactory. We especially enjoyed our breakfasts at the Spy Glass restaurant, and were happy to be served by familiar faces.

Room Tip: Book early.
