My wife, daughter and I stayed at Eden Vale Inn for two nights. The owners, Karen and David, are wonderful hosts. Upon our arrival, Karen provided restaurant recommendations and made a reservation for us. Upon our return, we were treated to s'mores around the campfire.

Our room was lovely and we slept soundly. Breakfast featured stuffed french toast the first morning, and a soufflé on the second. We enjoyed them on the patio, surrounded by the mature garden, listening to the birds. We couldn't imagine a better way to start the day.

I wish we lived closer so that we could visit again sooner. Highly recommended!

This place is absolutely amazing. Nestled in the rolling hills of Placerville/Shingle Springs, this B&B is away from it all, without truly being away from it all. ;) My fiance and I stayed here for two nights when we were getting married in El Dorado Hills this July. We chose to stay here on the night of our wedding at it was such a perfect place to wind down from the days festivities. These rooms are unbelievable. There are soaking tubs outside on a private patio that you can fill up with the press of a button. We had a lovely little welcome note upon arrival, got to pick out a bottle of champagne (part of our package) and enjoy breakfast each morning.

That leads me to breakfast. Hands down best breakfast I have ever enjoyed. I seriously need the recipe for their quiche because it was the most delicious thing I have every eaten for breakfast. I'm serious. Breakfast changes each morning and you get to enjoy it either inside or outside on their patio (we chose patio even in the heat because it was that beautiful).

Their spa is top notch. We got lovely massages at the inn the morning of our wedding. It really helped us relax and enjoy one another before the big day. There is a large fire pit that is lit at night and many of the guests from the inn congregate around this. It smells wonderful at night because of the fire pit.

I literally told every family member I could about this place and was partially heartbroken because we couldn't stay longer. Our plan is to visit again in the fall when the trees are turning and northern California is at its finest. You will not be disappointed by your stay at Eden Vale Inn!!

We have a wonderful team that works hard to help our guests enjoy the Inn and all that it offers. We're so glad you were able to relax and unwind. So many wedding couples have have chosen this place as a sanctuary before, during, and after their big day and that makes it all worthwhile. By the way, if you want a recipe, just ask...

What a lovely experience. We couldn't have been happier with our room, the grounds and the amenities. In keepers Karen and Mark were friendly and accommodating. They were pleased to meet our dogs and we were thrilled that we could bring them with us to stay in one of their pet friendly rooms. Eden Vale is just far enough off the beaten path to feel private and secluded, but really just a short drive to historic Coloma and Placerville (great shopping and casual dining). The breakfast and the inn was outstanding...the best scones I've ever tasted! Although we'd planned to bring wine along to enjoy in the evenings by the fire, we forgot it and we're pleased to see they had a nice list of bottled wines to purchase at the inn. We were there this week for our 14th anniversary and hope to return again soon!

We enjoy the canine visitors and so does Sam the Wonderdawg... And you're right, Chef Val makes the best scones on the planet.

Karen and David are the new owners of this amazing retreat spot just outside of Placerville. It's tucked away and allows for the feeling of a true get-away. It's quiet. Cell service doesn't work (unless you connect to their wi-fi). And though it's tucked away and quaint, the features are very modern (from lighting to remote-controlled fireplaces).

We came here for an anniversary weekend. I had ordered a package and added flowers and chocolates which were waiting in our room. We chose some wine to enjoy on the back patio, as well. The room is big enough with a king-sized bed. The bath is modern with two shower heads, one above and one hand held.

The breakfast is AMAZING. It's locally sourced and fresh... farm fresh.

We did a massage package and found the therapists to be on-target. What a delight to do that and then make our way to dinner in town.

You'll want to get dinner reservations in town before you come, by the way. Ask Karen for suggestions (look at FarmTable or The Independent).

Karen went out of her way to make sure that we felt well taken care of.
She gave us a day-pass for the local wineries. That allowed us to get "member rates" for any wines we bought. That's like 20% off of their prices and a nice perk. She made reservations for us at a local "reservation only" winery. And from there, we enjoyed two other local establishments, as well.

It was a great get-away weekend. We needed it a lot and we got exactly what we needed from it.

We wish Karen and David all the best as they grow into ownership of this great place with wonderful patios, decks, and gardens.

Room Tip: Look for rooms with tubs. (Even without, you can't go wrong.)

Surprised my wife with a two day trip to Placerville and ran into this great place that has recently changed owners. We found it very clean, rooms very comfortable, owners engaging and fantastic breakfast. Will definitely be returning. Oh yea, the couples massage on site - deluxe!!
