“Excellent Food”
Reviewed 18 July 2011

Four of us had lunch outside on a balmy Sunday. We ordered Fish Tacos, Tuna sandwich, Chicken Sandwich and vegetarian sandwich. Three of us chose the salad option, and the fourth asked for truffle parmesan fries on a separate plate to share. They gave us enough fries for all of us to happily share. All the sandwiches were excellent. The fish taco could have used some salsa. The service was friendly and good but could be better, e.g. another waiter could have helped ours to bring the food out so she did not have to make three trips to get all of our food.

“good enough to go back.”
Reviewed 29 September 2009

We had lunch here while visiting Pleasanton both in April 2009 and today. I had the Thai beef salad both times so i guess you could call the item memorable. The beef is cooked to either the recommended rare or to your liking. The salad part must have had a dozen different kinds of greens/peppers.

Wife had pastrami sandwich in April, dungeness crabcakes today. Both well presented and likable. Crabcake was loaded with crab.

the menu must have 50 or 60 items on it, from starters (which the crabcake was, but suitable for a lunch portion) to entrees to specials. Extensive sandwich list.f

I rate it as expensive, but I live in the heartland, not in the Bay area. For example, the thai salad, which had 6 thin strips of rare steak (probably Flatironsteak....only edible because it was thin.) cost $16.95. the crabcake "appetizer" was $13.95. but for those prices you get your well earned linen tablecloth and linen napkin.

Service was prompt, polite, helpul. The atmosphere in the main room where we ate is noisy. There were a lot of conversations going on, so such was possible. But the background table noise was annoying. It was perhaps stimulated by the rather loud background music being played. In April we ate on the patio. If the weather cooperated I would opt for that next time.

Very nice mediterranean food, and nice interpretation of classical dishes. I had a New York Strip that was grilled and then it was sliced and oven-cooked.
