“Hummingbirds and Joan what a duo!”
Reviewed 19 July 2014

We arrived to find that we were the only 2 booked in for our stay of 2 nights and we had the run of the Inn . This is a fantastic place to stay , very peaceful with a great outdoor seating are to look over the lake at the back of the property and watch the Hummingbirds visit to drink on the porch.
Our host Joan made us very welcome her breakfast and cinnamon scones were brilliant, we enjoyed sharing breakfast with her.
The Inn is a little out of the way and a 10-15 minute drive to evening meals , but you can bring food back and eat on the porch if you wish. It is very close to the wineries and a great flower centre.
When we arrived we did wonder if it was going to be a bit too quiet for us, when we left we were very happy that it had been. We really enjoyed our 2 nights at the Inn

This was a wonderful place to stay while visiting Amador Valley. The B&B is located in a very convenient spot for visiting the wineries, the room and the grounds were very nice, and breakfast was really delicious. The hostess, Joan, is an amazing hostess. We'll definitely stay here again if we're in Amador Valley.

Room Tip: We stayed in Chardonnay. This room and the Mission room share a balcony with a pretty view of the v...

This four room B&B is excellently located for wine tasting. The rooms are upstairs. They are simple, clean, good mattress(if you need a king get the zinfandel room). Bathrooms have walk in shower-adequate toiletries. I would recommend a room with a balcony as it is lovely to sit out at night. No TV-which hopefully you find to be a plus. However you don't come here for the rooms. As stated the location is great, the setting is lovely overlooking a lake in the back yard-ask before you go if the fishing is good-you can catch and release. The real star is the food. At 5pm there is wine cheese and fruit-very nice. The breakfasts are fabulous-homemade scones, a fresh egg dish, thick slab bacon, fruit, yogurt, juice, coffee-it will absolutely carry you until dinner. The innkeeper is lovely and obviously likes her work even though she does not own the inn. Next door is the Deaver winery with very nice wines and a great staff. Most wineries in this area are like that-warm people who like their work and are proud of their wines. The best we tasted in addition to Deaver was Runquist (the best), BellaGrace, Borjan, and Dillian. We enjoy Karly but they have sold to Turley who will open by the end of the year. THE place to eat is Taste in Plymouth, not cheap but terrific inventive food. This area is probably what Napa was 30 years ago. The wines are not up to Napa's in quality but the experience is much more rewarding.

This B&B is located on the Deaver Vineyards grounds. The wine tasting room right next door. The innkeeper is gracious, friendly and makes the most fabulous breakfasts from scratch...you can tell she really enjoys her position. The landscape includes old vines growing on the property, a lake with bass and large herons and the serenity is why we all so enjoy this locale. The back porch overlooks the lake and at 5 pm in the afternoon, we are served Deaver wines and super snacks. The inn has 4 rooms upstairs, we always stay in the Zinfandel room which is the only suite. We have been staying here at the Inn for several years when we attend the Passport Weekend. This past weekend we had the entire house to ourselves with our friends/family....a very special time indeed.

Room Tip: The Zinfandel room is at the end of the hallway away from the rest of the rooms, very large suite.

We spent 2 nights, our 24th Wedding Anniversary, at this B & B in the Chardonnay Room, and it was great. Joan (the Manager) is a great lady and her breakfasts are the best. The wine at 5 was a great sellecting of wines from Deaver Winery. The location is perfect, as we walked to a couple different wineries and drove to a few of our favorites. We will be coming back to this B&B alot in the future.

Room Tip: All rooms are great. The Chardonnay Room and the room without a restroom have a shared deck.

We stayed here to celebrate our 30th anniversary. We couldn't have been more pleased. We were given a room with a balcony overlooking the beautiful vineyards and grounds. Our hostess brought our wine and cheese up to our room the first night and we relaxed from our long drive with a quiet glass of wine together watching the antics of the many hummingbirds. The breakfast was outstanding -- you won't need to eat lunch! Wineries are within walking distance and easy driving distance. Just minutes away from the town of Plymouth, you feel like you're far away from civilization.
The inn itself is beautiful. Very clean, warm and comfortable. This is not one that is full of antiques and dust catchers which we appreciated. It made our small room more comfortable.
I highly recommend this wonderful place for a romantic get away!

My husband and I plus 2 of our friends just came back from our stay at the Amador Harvest Inn in Plymouth, CA.
We were treated like family from the moment we checked in (early). Joan who is the Manager was a wonderful woman making sure all details large or small were taken care of for each guest.
Our room (Zinfindel) was the largest out of the 4 rooms at the inn. It was Beautifully decorated, very very clean, wonderful bed and linens, fresh flowers, soft carpet, windows, and double sinks.
Our 2 breakfasts were made by Joan and both times it was delicious and filling. Fresh fruit, juice, coffee, Apple pancake & quiche, bacon & sausage, and 2 kinds of homemade scones - Yum-O. All of the food was served elegantly on beautiful plates & bowls decorated with dorlies and fresh herbs. Joan's attention to detail is excellent. In the evening, wine was brought over by the winery (Deaver) next door and served to us with cheese and crackers at 5:00. The lake, vineyard, and hummingbirds made for a peaceful and lovely setting off the large back patio anytime of the day & evening. This inn's location is very convenient since there are many wineries nearby. We will always stay at the Harvest Inn in future trips.

  • Liked — Their attention to detail to make each guest feel like home.
  • Disliked — It would have been nice to have some outdoor games during the evening before the sunset
