We visit Amador County every year and this winery is one of our "must stops". For one thing our brought has been indoctrinated in refilling both our olive oil jugs and our red table wine bottle. Three of us this year showed up with our bottles for the inexpensive refills.
Certainly that is one of the things that keeps us coming back, the refills but also the humor and good tasting room personnel they hire. One man in particular (I forget his name but his wife owns Susan's Place in Sutter Creek) brings us up-to-date every time we come in. This year it was a story of how five puppies from a Saint Bernard litter of ten disappeared overnight. Coyotes? Mountain lions? He wasn't saying (leaving that to your imagination) but I think we understood it was a human opportunist that saw the "for sale" sign in the winery and took advantage of it.
That is the other nice thing about this winery, they are dog friendly. So between their fabulous every day table wine, Brazin' Hussy Red, to their more exotic Alicante Bouschet, and everything in between, this is a great place to pick up a little education in Amador County.
