This is a great area to walk along the beach, it is expansive and glorious in our opinion. No dogs are allowed (we have a dog so are sensitive to such things) on the beach as it is a breeding ground for the Snowy Plover, an endangered bird.
The California State Parks system originally had this location slated for closure but it has since been saved and is open year round. There is camping available but we have not stayed in the campground so cannot speak to it.
If you are in the Point Arena area, say visiting the lighthouse and you pass by it is definitely worth a stop, the stroll along the unspoiled beach is worth it if for nothing else but to see the incredible array of driftwood.
