We stayed in the Keeper's Cabin and loved it. It was basically a full sized house with two bedrooms and a wood burning stove in the living room. Overall the cabin was a little dated but clean and the beds were all Posturpedic foam beds and very comfortable. What makes staying here really cool is that once the lighthouse and museum close (4:30 when we went), only the people staying in the few cabins are allowed on the grounds, so it gives it a very quiet and sequestered feel.

The views were amazing and the grounds had a large area to explore and several benches to soak it all in from. Lots of wildlife to see - seagulls, pelicans, raccoons and seals. Just a mile down the road is an area you can go hiking along the cliffs for more amazing views with basically no one around.

At night it gets cold and windy, but the room came with all the firewood we needed, which was nice as everywhere else it was extra.

So while it was a little pricey to stay here (paid the same rate as a hotel on Fishermans Wharf in San Francisco), it was well worth it for the views, for the quiet and for the unique experience.

We have been staying at Point Arena for several years. The houses are modern 3 bedroom homes. You are surrounded on 3 sides by the ocean and gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. It feels like coming home when we are there.

Six of us recently stayed in one of the three-bedroom keeper houses (unit #4, furthest from the lighthouse). The place was large with a master bedroom with attached bath and wood stove, and two other bedroom and another full bath in the hallway. Plenty of seating and a large, and fully equipped kitchen, made it easy to make meals and dine in. The kitchen had all supplies we needed, including coffee and sugar. Just bring your food and you are set. All bedding and towels were provided. The homes are older and some of the furnishing and carpet areas show wear, but the incredible location by the lighthouse on a isolated point is amazing. The beds were so comfortable and were a memory foam mattress. I slept like a log! Also adjancent to the Stornetta public lands for hiking and roaming. We saw seals, lots of birds, and frogs during our stay. Your visit includes the musueum and accessing the lighthouse during their regularly scheduled tours. This is a great location for a family getaway and making some great family memories. Depending where you are coming from, Highway 1 can be a bit of a drive to navigate, but take it slow and you will be fine.

We stayed at the lighthouse in October. The lighthouse is at the end of the point with the keepers houses not far down the road. Our unit was the farthest from the lighthouse and sleeps six. That unit has a queen bed in two bedrooms, two twin beds in the third, and a very comfy couch in the living room that my son used for his bed. The beds were extremely comfortable. There was a nice big dining table with room for everyone. All you need for the kitchen is your food!

The stay includes a tour of the lighthouse during tour hours. After hours, you can wander down the road and near the cliff sides (bring sturdy shoes and flashlights) and watch the waves and listen to the ocean. The waves are carving the earth in interesting formations. It is eerie in the fog and moonlight. You can warm up by the fireplace.

The town and the restaurants are miles away, so don't wait to long if you want to go out to eat. There isn't much selection in the evening. There is no beachfront at the lighthouse, but you can see a state beach just to the north, a short drive away.

Quiet location; remote; not much to do except site seeing cliffs, ocean, and windy roads; property very clean and individual units have all the comforts of home. Outstanding property!
