“Amazing!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 July 2014

Our room had 4 bunk beds for the 2 of us so we could spread out our stuff. The room was adequate, clean and the beds had big comfortable comforters. We slept so well. We had a shared bathroom that was huge. (ours was a family room) The place is clean and the surroundings are beautiful. We would stay there again and we are not hostel people. Our daughter and her boyfriend stayed in the main hostel that had a women and a mens dorm and they loved it too. I would highly recommend it. It is a little off the beaten path. We had use of a huge, updated, clean kitchen to cook. It was wonderful!

We took a bunch of Girl Scouts to Pt. Reyes last weekend and stayed at this hostel. I had no idea what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised by the warmth of the front desk staff and by the cleanliness. We stayed in the big bunkhouse and since we were only about 12 people total, we had a lot of room. It was good that the staff had explained to the girls that they have to remake their beds in the morning - otherwise, I think they would have tried out ALL of the beds.

We made dinner and breakfast in the communal kitchen, and though I was worried about how others would take to our rowdy bunch, everyone was very friendly. We ate outside and it was quite fun. The location was wonderful, we hiked to the beach and near the hostel. Downside was that the girls thought they saw a rat just before we were going to bed. We never confirmed a critter, but it was touch and go as to whether some of them would manage to stay the night. Fortunately, we made it through.

Room Tip: The bunk house is great for a large group - we didn't see any of the other rooms.

My teenage granddaughters and I spent April 16th and 17th @ the Point Reyes Hostel in the Point Reyes National Seashore. We stayed in a 8 bed(4 bunk) room with an ensuite bathroom. One thing I really appreciated was quilts instead of wool blankets. Very friendly staff, great views, good kitchen and public areas and quiet setting. We rode the coastal trail from the hostel down go the ocean, a 2.8 mile trail down go the ocean and thoroughly enjoyed all the attractions in the area. Limited cell service and no WIFI, which I actually enjoyed.

This hostel turned out to be a wonderful place. Located in back of beyond, you find a lovely landscape, quietness and peace.
The kitchen is fully equipped, you needn't bring salt, pepper, vegetable oil, etc. You will have to make your breakfast yourself.
Enjoy at least two nights and don't miss the wonderful hikes around Point Reyes e g past the historic ranch to Tomales Point. There you can see elk, eagles, sea lions and maybe even a whale or two!

It's not the Hilton. You'll have to share a bathroom and the pillows aren't fluffy, nor is there room service or any of the other luxuries you get at a hotel. But it's a hostel and it's the only place to stay inside the beautiful Point Reyes National Park. It's clean and it's quiet, which are two very important things to us. We had no issues with rowdy neighbors, they seem to enforce the "after 10pm quiet time". The kitchen is awesome and even has a "free shelf" if you find yourself low on food. Coffee pot available also. All in all, our stay here was great. There were four of us and we slept comfortably in one of the shared rooms. We shared a bathroom with one other room similar to ours and never had an issue. Highly recommend if you are visiting the park for a few days and on a budget.

This hostel was a little difficult to find but was in a beautiful part of the point Reyes national seashore. Unfortunately we only stayed one night and it was a bit foggy but if you could stay a week I would totally recommend it, there were tons of hikes and areas to explore within walking and driving distance Of the hostel. Oh yeah, DEFINITELY NEED A CAR TO GET HERE. It's an hour south west of Santa Rosa and make sure you have enough gas...

The hostel is super clean. The room is nice and the kitchen is great for cooking and hanging out. It smelled funny though, not sure what this smell was. However, I thought it was a little overpriced to charge $82 for a private room. The location is great, it's close to the shore and lots of hiking trails.
