Description: Located in the picturesque West Marin town of Point Reyes Station, Osteria Stellina offers a delicious, intimate, farm-to-table dining experience. Known for our strictly local and seasonal cuisine, we strive to showcase the bounty of West Marin on every plate. Our ingredients are sourced from the surrounding regions many farmers, ranchers, and fisherman; each dish reads like a sophisticated blue plate special, comprised of what's close and plentiful on a given day. The result is a creative, clean, farm fresh menu we like to call "Point Reyes Italian". Osteria Stellina's daily lunch and dinner menus include house made pastas and bread, organic salads and soups, pizzas, sustainable meats and seafood, an array of satisfying desserts, and a carefully edited and affordable wine list featuring local vineyards and Italian favorites. Local beer is on tap and additional beers are available by the bottle. The restaurant's gracious dining room is ideal for diners of all ages and any occasion.

From the moment you enter until the last bite of dessert is consumed you will love this place. Prices are in alignment with the quality of the ingredients. Although portion sizes are more in keeping with a European rather than American appetite. Lamb was fall off the bone delicious, locally sourced king salmon was prepared perfectly. I could have eaten four of the chocolate cakes. Wine selection was expansive and off the beaten path.

There are only a few restaurants in Point Reyes Station and I would put this at the top of the list. The Hog Island Clams (yes clams not oysters) are hands down the best I have ever had on the West or East Coast...total nirvana...just clams and Brickmaiden bread.

Good food with nice selection on menu. Enjoyed the fresh asparagus and pizza. My daughter liked her pasta dish which was a big enough portion to share. I thought the staff was a little too quick in wanting to pick up dishes off the table.

Osteria continues to innovate in food combinations and the use of seasonal local produce and meats. The vegetables are used in creative salads & and unique side dishes. The lamb is local and absolutely fresh in the spring. On a visit in May we had an unusually good multiple variety beet salad & a fantastic local rack of lamb. No need to search, everything on the menu is local & fresh in season. Spring, Summer and early Fall are the best times to enjoy the local farm bounty.

Our disappointment was the service. The bevy of young girls that make up the staff were pleasant, but NOT very attentive or helpful. The Osteria needs to train the waitress stall as well as they do the kitchen staff. In short, go for the food, but be prepared for marginal service.

We had dinner at Osteria Stellina last night. The food was good, but for the price, overrated. First of all, they charge you $1.50 for bread, which strikes me as ridiculous. We ordered a beet salad to start, and it was tiny. Just a couple bites or so for my husband and I. The lamb entree was pretty good, and we also shared the greens and beans dish, which was also good. The service ranged from mediocre to poor at times. After she took our order, our server barely reappeared. We actually had to flag down a busboy to get a dessert menu and take our dessert order. I wouldn't go back there again.
