Absolutely fantastic meal from start to finish. Have visited a few times and each time the food has been great & this visit was no exception but never gotten round to reviewing before.

Service was friendly, prompt & unobtrusive.

We had the trio of pork & the mushrooms in chilli cream to start. Presentation of both was lovely & food was piping hot which so many other restaurants seem to fall down on.

Main course we both opted for the fillet steak stack and although more expensive than your average meal it was worth every penny. Both were cooked to our requests perfectly, steak melted in the mouth, presentation was spot on & portion size was great (not a tiny little "designer" portion). We made the mistake of ordering a couple of sides assuming the meal wouldn't be as substantial as it actually was - no need as roasted veg came with it & the potato base of the stack was plenty.

Couldn't manage a pud so can't comment on those.

All in all a fab meal. Would def return without a doubt. Far superior to other comparably priced establishments in the area.

Very busy due to Christmas parties and feel that they are being greedy by opening the restaurant as well, better off doing one or the other. food was only average and definitely not value for money. When asking for the bill was told if I wanted to pay with cash I had to go to the bar!
Waitress whilst pleasant did not offer more drinks, or see if everything was ok. Randomly a braised beef dish did not come with any vegtables, these were an extra but veg came with other dishs which I found a bit odd, my own fault for not reading the menu properly and presuming things!
I wont be rushing back.

The room (as expected) was small but well furnished, fairly modern and comfortable. Good modernised bathroom with strong shower. The hotel is by a main road, so if you are a light sleeper you may be better to ask for a room not on the front, even though the windows are double glazed.

Food in the restaurant is excellent. Breakfast OK, but not up to the standard of the dinner.

I was in a group of 50 that attended a Christmas pantomime party, it was a very good function with great staff who were very friendly and willing to help. Yes it was busy but not so packed you couldn't move. The food arrived hot and on time at the table and everyone got served at the same time. Very we'll organised.just a couple of faults, the dance floor could of been bigger and it was very warm. But I guess that's better than cold. Would we book up again? Yes we probably would. Well done for making our night fun and enjoyable.

We stayed one night for a Christmas party, the food was average, the bar prices were very expensive, the staff were friendly. The hotel also had a fishy smell in the corridor which was very unpleasant.
