We've just come back from having a superb Sunday roast here. The staff are very good, the food was plentiful and very tasty and they cater for people who have a gluten and wheat intolerence, so overall excellent. We'll definitely be going back soon.

This is our favourite pub in the area! The staff are always eager to accommodate. The food is gorgeous. The prices are reasonable for the quality of food offered. We tell all of our friends about the Bull Inn and now you should tell all of yours :) Always a wonderful experience and the chateaubriand is out of this world! Totally worth the money! We will be visiting again soon. Can't wait!

Stayed here as a hotel close to Newmarket, and it is a real treasure. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The cosy rooms we stayed in, were exactly that, and clean. The real pleasure though was the food, we had a lovely meal in the evening, and a beautiful breakfast the following day. It was all a little on the pricey side, but I would still recommend.

Family of four, we had a main meal and one drink each which came to £75. If a meal is really nice I don't mind paying that, but afraid The Bull has ideas above it's station. It's just a pub with hotel, charging gastro pub prices for an average meal in average settings, with average service. Mean portion sizes, too. Try the Red Lodge pub after it's been refurbed if you're after gastro pub, best 'posh burger' I've had in the UK.

We went for just a night as a much needed break, and my husband booked it as a surprise. The room we stayed in was the Mad Cow (I think) and it was decorated in a funky and slightly outrageous style, with huge murals of cows and retro furnishings. The room was clean, comfortable and very well equipped. The bed was so comfortable that we barely managed to get into breakfast in time! I was worried about being so close to the road but the windows were double glazed and there were very thick velvet curtains which helped. We had a pretty good dinner in the dining room downstairs, but to be honest I remember the food less than the clientele. I don't know if we were 'lucky' but there was a rather amazing international cross section of guests which we couldn't help but be slightly fascinated by. The wine was excellent and the service was very good too. The food was good and portions large but nothing was particularly outstanding. I would agree that the stairs and some public areas could do with a good clean, but the owners were helpful and friendly and we would go again.

Room Tip: I'd suggest asking for one away from the main road.

Went there for Business Lunch,16/04/14, with 2 x customers and 2 colleagues. Never seen the bar so busy!! Ordered drinks and food, wanted a table for 5. Bar staff pointed out one was being vacated, so went over to wait for table to be cleared. That's when the problem started!! Family of 5 seated at table by door were told(not asked) to move away from the door!!. The wife asked if they wanted the family to leave the place!! I then got told(not asked) that they should have the table that I was standing by, waiting to be cleared!! Very abrupt in her manner. She (table clearer) clearly had no customer skills!! Bar staff seemed embarrassed by her! Won't be going back in a hurry, will probably try the Riverside Hotel instead!

As the restaurant was full, I took a table in the bar to order from the restaurant menu. The pub had a good atmosphere but we really did not expect quite the quality of food we experienced. Wonderful food!
