look, y'all, your options are limited in quincy so you may as well go with funky and friendly. tiny rooms but tons of storage space. full service kitchen, wifi, and just a great ambience. my adult kids + 1 'exploded' their backpacks but there was plenty of room on the porch and kitchen for them to organize gear, etc. there was a foldup couch for the friend & two double beds. when the remote for the TV failed the proprietor gave us his.

Cool Old School motel. Great location near Quincy. Old fashioned look and feel with personal quirky touches that make it a pleasure. Great view of the surrounding valley and easy access to the road. The management is friendly and hospitable without being intrusive. If you like Twin Peaks style you will dig this place. Very authentic and cool.

I am a Choice Motel traveler, and picked this almost by blind faith from their internet presentation ... what a CUTE (as in adorable) set of cabins. We had a 2Q in a tiny 2 room, 1 bath cabin (#4), tight quarters, but perfect for what we needed. We had excellent Wi-Fi and the beds were brand new as far as I could tell. I slept very soundly. The external photos hide the wonderful mountain cabin appointments inside. My grandkids were tickled to find a huge stuffed duck on their bed. Coming south at 50mph, you WILL miss the driveway on the left as the motel is north of Quincy proper. The owners are the property managers for the past 30 years and they obviously take pride in their gem alongside 89. I never heard road noise. Bottom line: It is a small cabin. It is comfortable. It is quiet. It is on my visit-again list.

Room Tip: All cabins are in a row separated by about 5 feet with a common lawn between them and Hwy 89. Arra...

Summary: tiny rooms, right of highway 70, free wifi, beds are mattresses with piece of foam on top (or no foam and just a hard bed).

There are not a lot of options of were to stay in Quincy. I decided to check out the Pine Hill motel after staying previously at the Gold Pan Lodge. The room I had included a Queen bed. There was hardly room to walk, let alone put down a suit case. However, it was clean. The room next door also had a queen bed, but it was larger. Rooms have a small fridge and microwave. Some units include a kitchenette.

There is an air conditioning unit in the window, which left running at night canceled out (somewhat) the noise from highway 70 which runs right in front of the motel.

The owners were very helpful and kind. With a little updating, this could be a quaint place to stay. Next time, I might go back to the Gold Pan, as I hear they have been updating their rooms.

Having never been to Quincy, I struggled to find a room to fit the family. We needed room for five for a single night. Our son was playing a three game series at the college. This hotel is exactly across the street and literally 2 minutes max to town. Marianne.... might have misspelled that, was very cordial and helpful with directions..... GPS will put you in the wrong spot. Just keep heading into the town of Quincy. WIFI was very good and quick. Rooms are small, but well decorated and like I mentioned above very clean.... Don't be afraid to stay here. The beds are a little soft, but slept fine. Hope this helps! PS... The pizza factory has pretty good pizza in town! We did not need a kitchenette

In today’s world where a premium is placed on conformity, it is nice to find an older property that is reasonably priced and very clean with a full kitchen. Even though the rooms are small and the appliances older, the beds are comfortable and everything works and rooms are spotless.

If you want a change from the sterile motel rooms found in everywhere, then you will appreciate the Pine Hill Motel. Yes, the property shows its age but the owners clearly take pride in the motel and make it a pleasant place to stay.

This little 12-unit family motel just north of town was built in the first half of the last century and retains much of its quaint charm. The duplex cabins have knotty pine paneling inside, and the porches are decked with huge slaps of cedar and the roofs are supported by rough-hewn posts.

The rooms have a small kitchenette set-up with a sink, stove-top and refrigerator. The bathroom plumbing is modern. The furnishings were simple and serviceable, a mix of old and not-so-old. The host was friendly. The clientele was quiet.

We enjoyed it overall and would probably go back just because of the unique character of the cabins, but we must warn fellow travelers about the very saggy bed in our room and the weak wi-fi that barely reached from the office to our room. AT&T cell service and (free) wi-fi were good enough outside on the front lawn, but inside the cabin, in the shadow of the hill behind, cell reception and wi-fi were touch and go but mostly non-functional.

Thanks for taking the time to review the Pine Hill Motel. We appreciate your nice comments, and have an update on our WiFi signal. It was recently (May 2012) professionally upgraded and now provides a strong, reliable signal to all rooms. Thanks again!
