We stayed at the resort for 4 nights and had golf course view room which we loved. It was very quiet and away from the noise of the main pools. We played tennis several times and was fun but the time of the year with the heat you need to play earlier in the morning or at night. 8 courts with lights help out with having time to play.

We ate breakfast at BluEmber every morning due to a deal with a credit for breakfast with our reservation. The management needs to staff the restaurant correctly. It took an hour to 2 hours every morning with the servers almost running between tables to service the customers. The staff was doing their best and was very friendly and helpful but the lack of management staffing the restaurant correctly was completely lacking. The resort needs to help the management or replace them if this is how they run a restaurant. The portions were very large and the food was tasty.

We used the adult pool as the other was filled with families and lots of kids. It was very nice and relaxing and quiet! :)

We never ate dinner on the resort but listened to the live music on the patio one night with drinks. The music was fantastic with some good drinks.

Overall it was a great stay and with better management to staff the restaurants it would be a perfect place to stay at.

Dear ATLJ,
We are thrilled you enjoyed your stay at Rancho. And it sounds like you took advantage of many terrific experiences, including the adults-only pool! We are pleased the quality of our bluEmber breakfast was to your liking, and do apologize for the extended wait in service times. This is something we will address directly with our restaurant managers in hopes this can immediately be improved. Your feedback is much appreciated and we hope to see you again soon!

Sincerely,
Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa

We stayed at Rancho Las Palmas the middle of May. The first 2 days it was a weekend and was crowded, but so much fun. I read negative (as well as many positive) comments about this resort and now having been here it makes me want to laugh. This place was great! It is beautiful and our room was in one of the far buildings that we chose to call our "villa". We had a wonderful balcony that we could enjoy each morning. We got room service several times and the food was excellent as well as the service. Everyone at the resort was kind and friendly, from the front desk, to housekeeping to the servers at the pool who brought cold water (for free) as well as anything we ordered. The lifeguards were great, especially Will. He was so friendly. They were so attentive to the lazy river. Speaking of that, wow, how wonderful to have that in 100+ degree heat! We loved the weather though and the beauty of the towns. So many sightseeing things to do nearby. We had a great time and hope we can go back someday! Thankyou Rancho Las Palmas!

Room Tip: We had an upstairs room in one of the back buildings so our room had easy access to the back of the...

Stayed 3 nights. Upon check in the room they gave my husband and I was terrible. We asked to move rooms and were told none were available. I went to the front desk and after some time they moved us to a room that was not so bad. The fridge dd not work so our food went bad and at one point the water was turned off in the room and no one notified us they would be turning off the water for about 15 minutes. The adult pool was nice but the splashtopia pool was nothing but kids with parents not watching them. If you are a couple without kids I would stay elsewhere! Breakfast took an hour to get seated and everyone was a snob and just the rudest guests ever! Just way too many kids who ruined what could have been a relaxing vacation

Dear CultureLove80,

Thank you for taking the time to review the resort. As you noted, many families with children enjoy staying here to enjoy Splashtopia during Spring Break, which is a popular, high-traffic time. I am glad you were able to spend time at the adult-pool; definitely the more tranquil area for couples traveling without kids, looking for some R+R! It is our goal to always expedite our dining experiences as best as possible, though at our busiest times, a wait-time can certainly be daunting in any increment. We strive - and will continue to seek improvement - to meet the needs of all types of travelers during any season. Certain times of the year, however, including fall and other dates not surrounding holidays, are more adult-geared and you'll find the resort takes on a different type of atmosphere. Your feedback is important to us and we apologize that this experience was not as you envisioned.

The place was completely packed over memorial weekend and then it appeared they sent all their staff home. Breakfast was SO slow. There were lots of empty tables in the restaurant but it still took them an hour to seat us and take our order. This was apparently because they had 'no servers'.
We slept badly as we could hear someone snoring in the next room. At check out we were overcharged and I overheard another guest having an issue with the hotel trying to charge for items already paid for presumably through a third party. I have stayed at lots of much better places in this area and cannot honestly recommend it at all. Splastopia is ok but much smaller than we imagined and doesn't justify the hotel's high rates. Next time we're in the area we're heading back to the Hyatt.

Dear Miss_Celie_Sings,

Your review is certainly noted and our restaurant management team will review any issues with appropriate staffing at high-traffic times. It is unfortunate that you experienced a long wait and do hope your meals were enjoyed once seated. Also being addressed is your complicated check-out, as we know the importance of making this as smooth as possible. We strive to see our guests off with a smile, and will seek to reduce confusion with third-party processes. Thank you for your feedback and for choosing to stay with us.

Sincerely,
Rancho Las Palmas

Stayed here over Memorial Day weekend. Hotel draws a very rude LA crowd that lack manners and aren't pleasant to share a busy property with. Water park is ok for young kids, rooms are updated and comfortable. Food service was hit and miss. Good central location in the desert.

Room Tip: pick a lakeview room for peace and quiet, the pool rooms are loud. Also get on the second floor as a...

This is a great family destination. There are a few pools to choose from. The main pool has a lazy river and two water slides. You can order food by the pool or there is a bar right next to the pool. It is usually very busy so book a cabana if you want guaranteed shade and chairs. It can get so busy that you cannot find a lounge chair.

Beautiful place, great location (directly across for the River Shopping Center) with great fun for the kids.

We stayed at Rancho Las Palmas in mid-May of this year when Palm Desert was having an unusually hot spring (daytime highs were well over 100 degrees). The resort's main building as well as its rooms well maintained and provide comfortable surroundings.

The room service was always prompt and the room service staff were excellent. The adults only pool was great and had a full-time bar tender who also served food. The golf course looked nice and there are nice places to walk along the golf course.

We had a suite which looked out over a pond that had both ducks a geese visiting it. The suite was comfortable with two exceptions. The only sofa was a hide-a-bed which just did not provide good seating and the chairs in the room, other than those at the dining table, were so worn that the seats sloped towards the front making them uncomfortable as well. We did not use the spa facilities so we can't comment on them.

If we were to stay at this resort again, we would come earlier in the year (to get cooler weather) and rent a car as the resort seems not be within walking distance of Palm Desert attractions.

Dear Dan S,

We appreciate your detailed review; thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are glad you enjoyed 'beating the heat' at the adult pool, and found the lobby and your room to be a nice retreat! We hope to see you again, perhaps earlier in the spring when the temperatures are more mild. Thank you for your feedback!

Sincerely,
Rancho Las Palmas
