“Nice!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 February 2013

Hotel is a bit old and needs some renos to update, but clean and well appointed. Love the outdoor fireplaces. Easy access to outlet malls and La Passeo shopping areas. Palm Springs has lots of great restaurants. Rancho has good restaurants. Blue Ember has small bands on weekends, was nice to hear music while sipping my wine. Great outdoor area at night with the fireplaces.

Room Tip: If you have kids ask to be close to splash pool, if no kids ask for far away from pool. Great spa!

I helped plan and coordinate our Year-end meeting at Rancho Las Palmas Resort and Spa, and it was a great experience overall.

The entire RLP team was ready for us and prepared to provide the best experience we could ask for. We were a group of about 60 people, with the majority of our party staying on site. The grounds were beautiful and well maintained, so even though we were on the edge of the property, the walk to our meeting space each morning was welcome. The rooms were gorgeous with beautifully tiled bathrooms, and balconies or patios for all of the rooms we had. One of my big things with staying away from home is the bed and linens. I'm very happy to say that RLP had comfortable beds, and their linens were clean and felt fresh each day, not like they had been sitting on the bed for a few days before you arrive.

There was a couple other large groups at RLP at the same time, but it never felt like we were forgotten. The staff was prompt at responding to our needs, and had everything ready to go, often before we were ready. Despite that we were sharing space with other groups, it did not feel over crowded or like we were running into the other groups.

The food was delicious, and after being there once, I would likely try to find a way to make it more varied for a multiple day stay to really get a feel for the chef's talent. We had an on-site dinner, with a tail-gating theme to the food, and it received huge raves from the attendees.

For our offsite dinner, the RLP staff worked with us to provide a shuttle service that was professional and courteous. I have no doubt that if we had needed any other services, they would have been happy to oblige and help us find something suitable.

I would highly recommend Rancho Las Palmas Resort and Spa for a business trip, or any sort of vacation, if your budget permits as that would be the only thing I would think to cause hesitation. For our group, they provided a group rate, but for families, friends, or couples who are looking for a vacation, it might make you falter.

Room Tip: If you want a quiet room that is set away from the hustle and bustle of the front of the resort, req...

This is the perfect spot-close to everything but a real feeling of being "away from it all"-it's beautiful and relaxing. The spa facilities and services are lovely. And the Blu Ember restaurant is great dining with an interesting and delicious menu -try the arctic char for a most exquisite meal!

Room Tip: Choose a second floor with a balcony mountain view-wonderful and relaxing!

While I attended a conference, my 5 and 7 year old had a grand time with my husband. They enjoyed the Lazy River and Splashtopia a lot. The breakfast burritos at the Palmas Cafe was a huge hit. The best part of our stay was the exceptional staff friendliness and service. We had a fantastic birthday dinner at Blue Ember (expensive but delicious) with a complimentary dessert and Melody was a lovely server. Everyone we encountered was helpful and friendly.
Our room looked over the sandy beach and was in great shape. The free WiFi everywhere was another bonus.

Pros:
The resort was beautiful, and the spa provided excellent massages and facials.
Outdoor pool lounge area with upscale pool chairs and food service at the spa was lovely.
Rooms were fine and cleaned well.
Security was fabulous when we accidentally left for the airport without emptying the safe.

Cons:
Pool was fine, but chairs were a little cheap and all looked dirty.
Food was displayed beautifully and tasted great, but was a bit pricey.
Breakfast service outside was spotty, and spa desk/system seemed to have a few moments of confusion.
There were a lot of children.

Overall:
Would definitely go back if we had small children, but probably not as a couple

Excellent stay with the buy 2 nights, get the 3rd night 50% off. Housekeeping excellent, great restaurant (blue Ember) with healthy and indulgent food selections. Lively patio with live music and fire pits. It would be nice if the TV had an actual guide of programs, instead of just a list of channels, but that's a minor point. Recently renovated and expanded workout room is well equipped with Precor machines and free weights. We've stayed here about 3 times in the last 2 years, we really like it! On weds night, the spa has special discounted rates, along with free appetizers and wine :)

We went here for a weekend get away and came away disapointed and feeling ripped off. Items appear on bill that are supposed to be included, rooms are overpriced, we stayed in a lower unit and could hear kids running back and forth upstairs all night. We upgraded and were told the room was 600 a night, resort failed to credit us the money we prepaid and charged us 600 a night and refused to modify. The pool bungalows are expensive but the only way to go as the rest of the pool area is small and cramped. As the day goes on the pool&desk gets dirty and no one cleans up. Bottom line is you pay top dollar and get mediocrity in exchange. I gave it 2 stars as the breakfast place was good.
