Stayed 3 nights here. Very disappointed. We had a kitchen suite with view of the parking lot. Private patio that backed up to the mountain so you had view of dirt. Nice BBQ though. Pool was closed 2 out of our 3 days for filter cleaning. Windows can't be opened. If going there be aware there is no direct access to the lake for swimming. If you have a boat or renting a boat then the location is great. Be prepared to bring beach towels - not provided. Any coffee, paper towels, spices etc. for the kitchen is all on you. They do have serving pieces and pots/pans to use. Also, housekeeping will not do dishes. As someone else stated - sheets and towels are very old and not soft at all. Read reviews and be prepared. Won't stay here again...sorry!

Room Tip: don't pick room 120 unless you like looking at other people's cars. Also next to the ice ma...

This is the most uncomfortable place I've ever stayed. The beefs are HORRIBLE, the sheets and pillows are so cheap and itchy, and the food at the restaurant tasted like it had been frozen way too long, just gross. The motel isn't exactly lakefront either. Its up on a hill, and you can see glimpses of the lake if you look past old trailers and trees. I regret staying here very much. My advice is to keep driving, the "lake view" is far from worth suffering through the night here.

We stayed this year during the 4th of July week and had a great time. The hotel was VERY clean and in fact the room next to ours was getting a new Carpet while we were there. Ours had already been replaced. The furniture was all oak and new. Older TV but worked fine. They have Direct TV and some of our favorite Channels were featured. The room isn’t a fancy Resort you may find in the Caribbean but good for what they are intended for. We spent all day on Shasta Lake which is right below the hotel. There was only one problem we had while there. On one of the hottest days on record, we came back from the Lake and when we got into the room the AC stopped. I called the front desk and almost immediately one of the hotel staff was knocking on my door asking if she could come in to check the AC. She took one look at it and moved my shoe I had kicked off when I came in and plugged the unit back in.. Presto it started back up. DOH! My fault. The AC worked perfect the whole time there.
Would we stay there again? Absolutely. The cost is reasonable and right on the Lake. When checking in you are given a card with your info that allows you to use it at the restaurant, marina and stores and then pay up at the end of your stay. This eliminates the need to carry cash or a credit card.

Room Tip: We stayed in a King Room Second Floor facing the lake. Had a partial view of the Lake (trees). No r...

Thankfully, I read these reviews before we stayed here for a week and moored our boat while meeting up with friends who were houseboating. Here are some things I think will help.

The pool was a bit too cold to play in. Bring pool towels as they are not provided.

We had a kitchen unit which does not have a microwave. The unit is clean, the tv channels barely come in on a 25 or older tv and there is no Internet service and my AT&T service was spotty. If your room does not have a coffee maker, then ask the front desk if they have any extra.

There is only a shower so if you have young ones, be aware. There is also not a hairdryer and the water took 10 minutes to warm up everyday. The vaulted ceilings are a plus and we kept the a/c on to drown out the neighbors' noise.

It was 165 steps down to the boat each day so be prepared.

Be sure to bring paper plates, paper towels, and charcoal for the grill. They provide utensils, but the grill is not gas. You may also want a table cloth and some sort of cleaner like 409 to clean surfaces. They provide a sponge and dish cleaner but the daily housekeeping does not include dish washing.

I brought push pins To hang up blankets and towels to help with the morning light. It is extremely bright in these rooms.

Overall, the location is fabulous. The meals at Tail o' the whale were great and we were prepared to have a good time.

Met up with some friends that were on a houseboat on Shasta Lake and wanted local accomodations near the lake for a night. I was referred to the Bridge Bay Resort Motel. I must say the word "motel" had me a little worried, but we were pleasantly surprised. This resort area overlookes the lake and the bridge (hwy 5) that crosses the lake. It has a pool (which we did not use) and a restaurant (which we used for breakfast). The room we had was a corner unit on the second floor. It had 2 comfortable double beds and we also brought in a rollaway for the night and there was still plenty of room. It was very clean. This room had vaulted ceilings which made it feel more spacious and a large closet. I was surprised to find nice plushy towels and the toiletries (shampoo & conditioner) in a "motel". I did bring my own hairdryer. My only "complaint" would be that it would have been nice to have full length curtains on the windows. (There were just mini blinds with a valance and we got a lot of light into our room from the lights outside of the room). The only other small issue we had was that the shower door did not close properly. If you closed it all the way, it got stuck and very hard to open. The staff that we dealt with were all very nice. Being we were staying at the motel we were given courtesy launch for our boat at the marina. There is also a little "general store" on site with just about anything you may need or that you have forgotten. We stayed on a Thursday evening and even though it seemed like there were a lot of people staying there it was quiet. We would stay here again if going to Shasta Lake.

We moor our boat at Bridge Bay during the summer. We always have many friends and family members who come to join us for fun on the water, and we often spend the night at the motel there. The rooms are clean, no frills (i.e. coffee pot), but have all we need for a good night's sleep. The restaurant serves a really great breakfast and you can sit out on the deck overlooking the lake...always a good time!!

We stopped here for two nights while driving from Oregon to San Diego. The setting is wonderful. Lots of trees, overlooking the lake. The room we stayed in was basic but clean and comfortable. Everyone we met was very nice to us.
