“Uncomfortable”
Reviewed 3 August 2013

When you first get here the place seems ok. Was a bit close to the freeway but we could have dealt with that. Its an older couple that owns it and its clear they dont like kids the lady was still accomodating when our youngest came up and asked if he could do canonballs in the pool she said sure. A while later when we brought the kids back to the pool her husband asked us to not jump in the pool....ok? Whatever...then after that he continued to watch my children everywhere. The kids were in the playground and they said they saw him pretending to be working but watching them at the same time. Needless to say it made them uncomfortable it wasnt like they needed supervision they were 13, 11 and 9. After that we came up to our site had dinner and got some coals going for smores and few twigs on for flames minutes later this guy came thru our campgeound yelling at us for making to big of a fire....not kidding the largest stick was only about an inch thick they had asked us to contain our fire inside this little bbq pit so we did.....so if you stay here then don't forget to turn out the lights every time the bathroom is used dont jump in the pool, and warn your children about the creepy stalker guy that watches them while they play...we stayed in a tent.

We stop at the Fawndale Lodge & RV Resort on our way to AZ and back to WA every year. Found it by accident the 1st time, but it was perfect for us. The owners are friendly, courteous and helpful, and so is their dog! We choose Room 6 because we can fix our own meals in the complete kitchen, looking out over the lovely grounds while we eat. Most of the reviews I see on this site are misplaced, as they are about Fawndale Oaks, a different RV park altogether. You'll find the Fawndale Lodge & RV Resort by taking the first driveway on Fawndale Rd. (not at the end of the road)

Room Tip: There are 7 motel units as well as RV and tent sites. #2 and #6 have complete kitchens, but all hav...

Just to confirm this is at park is at the end of the road, not to be confused with Fawndale Lodge next door. I'm not sure who "jan_dxtr" is writing about, but it certainly was NOT the owner we met. Both of the owners were very kind, courteous and conscientious. They have a great little store, well stocked with a little of everything. The bathrooms, showers and laundry facilities were clean and worked great! Very clean pool with a "cool old locomotive" amongst the giant oak trees. We were tenting and had a beautiful site near the end of the park up the in the forest. When we mentioned the attractions we planned to visit, they provided discount coupons for us - an unexpected bonus! As well as information on other attractions in the Redding - Lake Shasta area. Shannon (the owner) went the "extra mile" to call us when the I-5 was badly congested to guide us around the traffic mess! We enjoyed visiting with the owners and learning about the Redding area. This was our first trip to northern California and we look forward to returning in the future! We highly recommend staying at Fawndale Oaks RV!! Doug and Jacqui

This park does have some charecter and lots of shade trees, a nice swimming pool and a adequater conveinence store, the sites we easy in and out, the problem is the management, the couple who run it the lady is nice the man acts like person who hasn't taken his medicne, runs around and banging on people's doors with some kind of trival nonesense, some one should tell him who is paying the rent and you get alot more with kindness, the word is he has ran plenty of people off, me included, would never stay theref again, stayed in a 28 foot fifth wheel, have been there two days and he is real good at pissing people off, me included

I can’t say enough nice things about the owners of this campground—they are truly lovely people, and it was a pleasure to meet them. In addition, the campground is small and cozy. The setting is lovely—beautiful trees, nice roads, and very private sites. We needed to stay a couple of nights near Redding, CA. I called the owners and reserved two nights, at a reasonable price, we liked it enough to stay for 2 additional nights. They have a store, and offered a free paper for our stay, clean restrooms and bathrooms, plus laundry facilities. They have beautiful tent camping sites. Our space was level and easy to pull through. This campground is in the middle of the country, with nice hiking trails, they also have a old locomotive they are restoring, and have fun plans for it in the future. We would happily stay here again. We camped here in a RV Trailer.

My husband and I have stayed at Fawndale RV Park a few times, on our travels between California and Oregon. We travel with a 35+ 5th wheel and dually Chevy pu, never having any problems getting into the sites at the park. There are rental trailers but, no motel/lodge/hotel. The store, restrooms and laundry are well kept. We can recommend this RV PARK to any rv''er passing thru.

This is our second visit to Fawndale Oaks RV Park, and we again had a great time!
The owners, Shannon and Cary, are very friendly and run a clean park. Their store has lots of everything you might need- including souvenirs! We enjoyed the swimming pool. We rented one of their trailers. We enjoyed the peaceful surroundings! The park has close access to the lake.
