We are currently spending our last evening of 4 at this great hotel. I was a little concerned after reading some reviews about it but I needn't have. The hotel is smart, clean and tidy and the pool and sun deck are a godsend if you are not over keen on sand between you toes. The Splash restaurant breakfast is superb with plenty of choice and freshly cooked to ordet omlettes and waffles. The staff have been very friendly and only too eager to help in any way. We headed to Hollywood from here it took us about 45 mins in traffic and through the advice from the hotel staff instead of getting a cab which would have been around $60 each way, we hired a car from Enterprise much cheaper and saw much more than we would have otherwise.
Highly reccomend this hotel to anyone.

Very modern and spacious room nice mini balcony, helpful staff, convenient and secure ( though at $25 it would want to be ) parking free internet in foyer , 2 machines only , no free wifi , which for the room rate is a insult . ( especially considering you can get free wifi at Walmart!!)
Still would return though

Room Tip: ask to see it

Stay here for one night in early May 2014 after not wanting to drive all the back to San Diego from Santa Barbara. Location is very convenient to the marina/pier/beach in Redondo. The room was a very nice size room. The look of the building looks a little dated. Or the hotel itself just looks like a 1970's style apartment building. Inside, the lobby decor is pretty nice, and the room decor is as well. Parking is very convenient with a lot attached to the hotel itself. There isnt many options around the hotel for late night dining on the weekend, which I found interesting. Bed was pretty comfortable. The door to the bathroom was odd though. Cant really explain it. All in all, a good overnight stay...nothing bad to say about the place.

The hotel rooms were much older than we expected.
We didn't like the ridiculous cost of valet and Wi-Fi.
The wait to check-in was about 20 minutes with 2 desk people.
The bathroom was very old.
Room was ok, not great. Good location, rest of the hotel is nice.
I wouldn't recommend this hotel for the price.

Dear JetSetterV,

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel regarding your recent stay. It is truly unfortunate to learn that not all aspects of our hotel were able to meet your expectations. I apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced with the check in process and with your room accommodation.

As for the cost of our services, we strive to provide a competitive rate in the area. It is not our intent to inconvenient our guests instead provide rate options that make sense. Nevertheless, I have taken note of all your comments and shared them with our hotel management to look into and consider making improvements where needed.

While we understand that your stay was not 100% satisfactory, we hope that you would give us another chance to make your stay as best as it can be.

Sincerely,

My husband stays in the hotel at least 40 weeks out of the year. They of course know him but I went with him once. They have a special dining area for frequent customers. Breakfast and dinner. Very nice. Even had a glass of wine. And when that wasn't open, they gave us vouchers for the main restaurant. Across the steet, there is a cruise in with all the old and awesome cars. It's a short walk to the boardwalk. Only complaint was when I went to the pool there were no towels. I went into the spa and they told me to track down a housekeeper. I felt they should have either given me one of theirs or called housekeeping for me. The last night we were there the presidential suite was having quite a party. We called the front desk and immediately security came up and asked them to be quiet that the Crowne Plaza is not a party hotel. After the door was shut, the security man stood and waited 5 minutes and knocked again. He told them it would be the last time he asked. They would have to leave if they didn't get quiet.

I stayed at the Crowne Plaza in Redondo Beach in May 2014 for a business trip. It was a great experience from the moment I checked in to the moment I checked out. I arrived at 11am day of arrival and they checked me in right away. My room was spacious and clean. I hung out by the pool area for a bit and Gloria from room service delivered our food/drinks to the pool area. She was a sweetheart. Maria Elena from Concierge was very friendly and helpful. She gave us free drink tickets for a couple of bars and restaurants in Hermosa. Day of departure our flight was a red eye, we had to check out but they allowed us to use the pool and rest of the hotel amenities after we checked out.

I stayed at the Portofino Hotel in the area in April 2014 and the Crowne Plaza was a world of a difference.

Stayed here for two nights before a cruise from the Port of Los Angeles at San Pedro. Flew in from London and got a taxi from the terminal to the hotel for $40 taking about 30 minutes. The hotel and resort were busy as it was the Easter weekend.
Check in was friendly and efficient.
First impression were of an impressive lobby, spacious and cool. Plenty of seating in the lounge, two computers with free wifi and super quick lifts. Our room was on the top floor overlooking the car park to the ocean. It was a fair trek from the lifts to the room but no big deal. The views were impressive especially of the sunset. Our room had a superking bed, plenty of storage space, safe, flatscreen Tv, large bathroom with a shower above the bath. Slept comfortably with little external noise. However ours was one of few direct ocean facing rooms not to have a balcony.
We had breakfast included in the rate which is taken in the restaurant. Lots of choice with cheerful service. Before going out in the evening we had a couple of drinks in the well stocked bar.
Within walking distance is a good choice of restaurants in and around the pier. We ate at Tony's one evening and then the Cheesecake Factory the other. Felt totally safe wandering around, the beach area and pier had a friendly and nostalgic feel. Had lunch at Polly's. All these eating places were within 5 minutes walk.
We also walked to Hermosa Beach which is a fascinating area to wander around with great beachfront properties, bars, volleyball on the vast beach and all manor of interesting characters.
Our taxi to the cruise terminal cost $40 with tip, taking 25 minutes.
This hotel is in a good location to unwind following a long flight and is a change from the usual areas to stay in and around Los Angeles. The hotel has undergone refurbishment of some bedrooms while there are minor works continuing in the lobby. It was very clean and we had a really nice two night stay.

Room Tip: Our room directly faced the sea. Great views. Some have balconies but not all, so do confirm.
