Stayed here while visiting a dying relative. Got a double room. One of the beds was firmer than I prefer but the other was just right. Love the pillows and the comforter was just the right weight. Individual controls in the room allowed me to set the temperature to my comfort level. Had a light meal in the bar/lounge area and it was good. Drinks were a bit overpriced but on par I guess for California. We went to "happy hour" and were pleasantly surprised at the selection of finger foods that went along with the drinks. Also had breakfast one morning and it was good. Didn't do the buffet though, had the made to order food. Overall good experience and would highly recommend to anyone needing a comfortable hotel in the area.

I read the previous reviews and was a bit worried but being a Marriott Gold member I wanted to stay at a full service Marriott and the Riverside was the most suited, I need not have worried the stay was excellent, the registration was handled very well by a very pleasant desk clerk. I like a previous reviewer had a room on the 12th floor, 1222, not sure how they managed to be kept awake by trains as the rail track is some distance away. The hotel was clean and well maintained, the bed was up to the usual Marriott high standard. I would certainly recommend the concierge lounge for breakfast, it was the best I've experienced for choice, on a warm morning be sure to make use of the outside patio. Very close to the city centre which I would also recommend a walk around. A good base if visiting the March Field air museum which is about 9 miles away from the hotel.

I have stayed at this hotel 4 times in the past two years and find it to be a reliable choice in Riverside. The rooms are well maintained and clean and are mostly quiet (you might hear some trains passing by at night). The breakfast buffet is good and consists of typical Marriott fare (eggs, potatoes, bacon/sausage, fruit, cereal, etc.). The staff are generally nice, although the restaurant staff could use a little refresher on being friendly to their customers. The hotel's location is within walking distance of most of downtown Riverside. There is a small pool and a hot tub outside both of which work ok. Garage parking is $8 per night and the high-speed Internet is not free, but the Marriott is still a good alternative to the overpriced Mission Inn. So overall, nothing special but definitely a good hotel.

This could be a very nice hotel, the rooms are typical Marriott, the service is good but there is one glaring problem.

If you have ever seen the movie you will remember the scene with the train, well its now 3 am and the trains (with their horns) keep rolling by, if I had not already taken my sleeping pills I would of just left.
So if you value your sleep, avoid this hotel.

My husband are locals and went to San Diego for a few days including the weekend. Because I had to go to work on Monday, we decided to extend our mini honeymoon in Riverside. We chose the Marriott because we got a great rate. The hotel is clean and presents well. The room we got on the 12th floor included concierge service which was nice. The bed and pillows were not very good and I tossed and turned all night. There was a noise in the pluming that howled loudly all night. Also, there was this clicking noise but we couldn't tell where it was coming from. We were next to the elevator and the ice machine. Anyway, it was annoying to hear all night. We had dinner in the resturant which was just ok, and of course very pricey. I wouldn't stay there again.

My first experience of a Marriot I’m usually a Holiday Inn user but it was close to the B52s concert. Overall impression was quite good, rooms large clean and comfortable, breakfast and evening meal was very good. Price of internet access was ridiculous though and for some reason we were only given two paper disposable cups to make our teas and coffees in (what happened to china mugs?). Nearly very good but not quite enough to lure me away from HI.
