Stayed here for a leisure weekend. Check in was prompt and easy the room was clean. The location is near many restaurants, Arden Fair mall and the Expo. This was the only hotel within a few blocks so it was not very busy. Parking was free and I never had any problems finding a spot. At night the place is very quiet unlike other hotels which sit right off the highways. The breakfast was OK as it was continental. No hot food is available. Overall I would pick this place over any hotel in the area because of location, cleanliness, and just far enough from the craziness of the expo/mall area.

We often visit Sacramento and somehow missed this gem of a motel . Intended for long stay business travelers, this place is perfect for our needs when visiting family. We had a room that was really like an apartment- bedroom, full size fridge , two television, DVD player-desk and efficiency kitchen. Super comfortable bed, continental breakfast included. Very near bike trail, college, river , freeway and downtown. All for the low price of 127 bucks. Some rooms are less. Would be great for a family with kids also. Dogs allowed.

I pulled up this location because of the reviews, and I was very happy to see that what everyone said was true. Great staff, good value, and an excellent living & work space in the room itself.

The only knock was that they ran out of dishwasher detergent my second day of four there, so it was hand washing after that. But, like I said, just a very minor issue with 95% of the stay being outstanding.

I will be back.

Recently stayed here for business when all the other choices were sold out. Hotel is in a convenient area with easy access to restaurants and highways. Staff was super friendly and truly made you feel at home. Very nice kept place with nice decor. Room was comfortable with nice furniture however, between the fridge and the AC going on and off all night, I wasn't well rested. Breakfast selection wasn't as good as the major hotels and in my case, the bagel was very stale. The hotel had the "feel" of a family type hotel, not a business hotel. They didn't include free water, nor had your portfolio hung on your door the next morning (express checkout). As business traveler, you get accustomed to these things. Never heard of the Larkspur chain but I did join the Stash loyalty program and will probably stay again, if the other business hotels are sold out. :)

pros: very clean, well decorated, great staff, big rooms
cons:....this is hard to decide but...the closets are too big, there's a huge bathroom, a complete kitchen, two TVs, free parking, free internet, king beds, nice continental breakfast.....
Seriously, we originally tried the Embassy Suites nearby...but at a high price, a $12 charge for internet (are they kidding? a 6 motel has free internet) and a $28 parking fee......yikes
We'll stay in a Larkspur Landing again for sure!

Room Tip: the place is located behind the Mels' diner on Howe Street...a bit hard to see.

We have tried a lot of hotels in Sacramento. This one meets our needs best. They have king size beds, a fully equipped kitchen, an expansive workspace, a large bathroom with plenty of room to spread two people's stuff out, ample parking, restaurants across the parking lot and others within walking distance. The Eastern Empire, which we think is the best chinese restaurant in Sacramento, is just a block and a half south in the Safeway shopping center. The hotel also provides a DVD player in each room with a free DVD library in the lobby. The king size bed is a snug fit in the bedroom, but most suite hotels in Sacramento only offer queen beds. We found the breakfast a little thin, but adequate to get you started in the morning. Bagels, juice, coffee, yogurt, fruit. The second morning when we had decided to go out with a friend there were some sweet rolls. The breakfast room is very small with limited seating, but they have trays so you can take your breakfast back up to your suite.

Room Tip: One wing has rooms facing north so that you never get the sun directly shining into your room. That...

My husband and I stayed at the Larkspur on a recent to the US.
Here are some of our thoughts:
Pros:
Friendly staff
Clean clean clean
Comfortable bed and linen
Great free laundry (just pay for the powder)
Excellent small gym - all newish equipment which was well maintained
Good choices for breakfast, iced water and fruit available at reception, cookies in the afternoons.
Good location with many food places near and a good outlet shopping mall across the road.
Cons:
Very noisy air conditioner that cycled on and off all night - quite disturbing of your sleep.
Equally noisy fridge that also cycled on and off all night - not sure which one was worse.

This hotel are overall great but it would really improve with the updating of the air con!
