What a beautiful hotel and comfortable suite! We enjoyed our stay tremendously! This hotel is located across from Old Sac and the river. There are lots of sites and restaurants to visit. Even though the hotel was busy, it didn't seem like it. The staff was friendly and quick. Steve at the Front Desk was especially nice. We'll be back!

I had a buiness trip to make, my boyfriend came with me so it was a mini vacation as well. Our room was clean and comfortable (though it overlooked the freeway so there was a bit of noise--next time I will pay extra for a river view). What impressed me was the generous time policy for the"Happy Hour," when all drinks are free and the cooked to order breakfast that didn't require a half hour wait as happens in some of the chains that promise that amenity. And, it was tasty too!
Use the valet parking--its only $1.00 more that the self park, but the cheery attendant disappeared before I could even tip him. Same with the bellman. So, no hands always extended service here

Our one night stay was very comfortable and the location was terrific for the boardwalk, ball field, river front and Railroad Museum. Breakfast was a plus. We loved the open atrium.

but had to settle for liking it. They have several excellent employees, like Jessica at the front desk plus a couple of others. Overall, I felt the staff resented having to deal with guests.

The lobby is beautiful and a fine venue for the nightly reception and complimentary breakfast offered at Embassy Suites. The indoor pool was a godsend since it was pouring rain when we got into Old Sacramento with two young grandsons hoping for a quick walk to the Railroad Museum.

The location is perfect for visiting the many attractions in Old Sacramento, all within a four-block area.

Parking in the public lot across the street is $24/day and at the hotel it is $25/day, with free in and out, but figure in tipping valets. Once we parked, we never had to get our car til we left three days later, due to the convenient location. We were able to take the hotel free shuttle to Sutter's Fort and took the muni bus back for $5 for the three of us.

We ate from the Marketplace a couple of times and found it very good for casual. The Tower Bistro is also available for more fine dining, but my understanding was that the same kitchen prepares the food for both.

The room decor seems to reflect the Old Sacramento/ Gold Rush era in its furnishings There was a loose bump across the carpet of our room and the bellman said that new carpet had been put in and some rooms were having that problem.

The most disgruntling part was an odor of bugspray in the room that I have not noticed in other hotels. Perhaps it was new carpet glue.

I have only stayed at one other property in Old Sacto and would definitely stay at Embassy Stes. over that one.

Room Tip: The business center is on the second floor, so enjoyed staying on that floor and not having to take...

Excellent location to Old Sacramento and walk across bridge to Raley Field. Consistently good but sometimes crowded breakfasts and happy hour. Pool was a bit small. No self parking...had to pay $25/night, but easy to get car quickly when needing it. Overall, we would stay there again.

We loved this hotel! The rooms were large, clean, and well decorated. Great views of the river! We loved that entrance to the room over looks their beautiful lobby. The breakfast buffet was delicious too! We walked over the Old Town Sacramento for dinner and to look around. Perfect location and a great place to stay!

I followed the tips and guidelines of previous posters. This was our first family trip to old Sacramento to visit the Train museums, Sacramento Capitol Building, Art Museum and the Sacramento RiverCats baseball game. What a GREAT and PERFECT location.
I was glad I followed directions of previous posters.
We booked a room on the top floor of Embassy Suites and requested River View. I also requested a "suite". They did not advertise it when you called, but when I specified it based on reviews I have seen, I was given this room. It consisted of a small living room with TV and SofaBed and desk, the bedroom had a King bed and also a TV.
As previous posters recommended, its important to request RiverView due to H-5 being on the opposite side. We never heard the traffic. It was also important to request a top floor due to the noise. I was surprised how many people let their kids run unsupervised in this hotel, however we were on the top floor and had minimal noise. This was even during the time when many high school seniors were having their prom. We chose our room wisely.
We parked our car once, and walked to all the above attractions. We were even able to watch the Saturday night fireworks from the RiverCats baseball game from our room.
My son also enjoyed walking along the riverwalk, we even took the train. Our son went swimming in the indoor pool. We walked down to the Capitol building and took a tour.
Only downside was that the indoor pool was very small, as well as the hot tub. However, my son enjoyed it.
Great family weekend trip.

Room Tip: Request 8th Floor, RiverView.
