A group of ten squeezed in on Friday night. I offered the hostess a twenty to seat us at the corner booth but she wasn't biting so we split our party into two awkward groups and just made our way back and forth from one side of the room to the other. Have to say that the servers were up to the task of handling the packed Friday night revelry. Black clad hipster wait staff noticed when beers were low and didn't have to be flagged down to keep the party going. As the night progressed our two groups were able to combine at one booth and our server was able to seamlessly integrate and track the tabs despite the table switch. Definitely more of a watering hole rather than a culinary establishment but the appetizers were tasty, inexpensive and plentiful. Great drink selection. Looking forward to hitting this spot again.

My wife and I went to Ink Eats & Drinks for a Sunday breakfast on Cinco de Mayo. Obviously a popular place, as the combination restaurant/bar was filled with other people -- mostly in their '20s and '30s and casually dressed. We sat in a comfy booth, reviewed the extensive breakfast menu and ordered. I chose a Cinco de Mayo special, Chorizo tacos with country potatoes ($10). Although the chorizo taste was not as intense as I prefer, the tacos were very tasty, The country potatoes needed a few minutes on the grill.

The real problem with our meal, however, was my wife's order -- Blueberry pancakes. It became embarrassing for us and our server when the under-cooked pancakes were returned three times to the kitchen. The manager came to our table and apologized, saying that apparently half of the pancake grill had not been turned on and offered to substitute something else for her order. Since I had already finished my meal, she opted for eggs-and-bacon. While she was eating her meal, our server brought her a perfectly cooked blueberry pancake, which my wife said was delicious. Unfortunately, nearly 40 minutes had passed from the time we placed our initial order.

One fun note. The bar has a self-serve Bloody Mary section where you add your own choice of ingredients to your purchased glass of vodka and ice. Options included pickled asparagus and pickled string beans plus a variety of mixes. The bar menu also includes "unlimited" Mimosas and champagne for a very reasonable price (can't remember the exact price -- maybe $5?). The bar has an extensive list of house specialty drinks and, of course, Happy Hour.

Overall, our first visit to Ink Eats & Drinks was disappointing -- but there were many other people who were obviously having a fun time and enjoying their meals. "Traveling the world one meal at a time..."
