“Better Dim Sum for Sacramento area”
Reviewed 9 January 2013

Always crowded. Hong Kong style chinese food. If you are from LA and SF and are used to good Dim Sum, there is nothing in this area. This is the best in this area; hence, the 4 star.

“Delightful”
Reviewed 7 November 2012

Our disappointing and lengthy search for San Francisco-quality Dim Sum in Sacramento has gloriously come to an end!! We have driven by Asian Pearl 2009 on weekends only to be overwhelmed and stopped by the crowds outside - always, to us, an indicator of excellence. We found ourselves in the area during the work week and "timidly" gave it a try owing to our previous experiences in Sacramento. What a delightful place: real glass glasses for water, white table cloths, chopsticks without knives and forks!!, spotless restrooms, friendly and attentive wait/cart staff, ceramic dishes instead of plastic, and pipping hot Dim Sum that could make a San Franciscan drive over to experience. The bountifully filled Shiu Mai dumpling was delectable with a lovely soft-to-the tongue echo of ginger, the beautifully translucent Har Gow revealed invitingly lovely shrimp, the sesame balls were delicately and patiently deep fried to complement the eye as well as the savory bean paste, the calamari was refreshingly well prepared, the Ham Sui Gok was masterfully prepared, and the Ha Cheong Fun literally melted with delight in our mouths. Our bill came to $25 for lunch and were so filled we did not have dinner until late in the evening. We were warned to come early on weekends; it opens at ten. Without a doubt, we shall join the crowds in the cavernous hall.
