We had a chance to have an overnight date and chose to head to Sacramento. Our room was great! The studio with a king bed was perfect for the two of us. We walked to nearby restaurants and bars, what a great location! Impressed with the amenities, the breakfast looked like it would have been good (but we slept too long and it was over when we came down (10am)). Which was fine, due to all the close restaurant options. We will definitely stay here again! We were impressed with the vibrancy of this area of Sacramento!

Room Tip: Our room was on the top floor overlooking the pool and was super quiet. If you need lotion, you'...

So stayed here when we moved to Sacramento before we moved into our house. Good size rooms with the kitchen and living area with the separate bedroom. Clean and good service. Not the most exciting place in the world to stay, but does the job. Staff are very friendly.

Room Tip: If you want a nice view ask for a room facing the park.

Stayed here for a few nights, which included a Friday and Saturday night. We were up on one of the higher floors, but could still hear the music (mainly the bass) from the restaurant/bar located in the hotel on the ground floor (our room was facing the main street that goes by the hotel entrance). When I went down to the front desk to ask as to how long the music would be going in the bar (and it was very loud at the ground level), I was told that was normal for a weekend night, but that they would ask the bar to lower the bass level of the music. Unfortunately, that didn't happen on either night, and along with the general noise from the people on the street (which had nothing to do with the hotel -- there were just a lot of people walking around, hollering and even playing a saxophone), it was way too noisy for us. I understand people in the bar wanting to have a good time (and I'm OK with that), but the folks staying in the hotel, especially if you're up on a higher floor, shouldn't have to hear the music coming from the bar (as I previously said, the street noise is a different issue, and the hotel can't do anything about that). Since the bass "thumping" I heard in my room continued after talking to the front desk (on both nights), I don't think they even bothered asking the bar to lower it.

So, if you happen to be a party-type person that doesn't mind the street noise and the very loud music coming from the bar (and we know that people a couple of floors above us also heard the music from the bar), you may want to find another place to stay.

I also agree with the other reviewers regarding the parking situation -- very tight just trying to get in to the garage, and you have to go to the top three floors, but since the hotel doesn't own the garage, there really isn't a way around this, other than to park on the street (and I don't think I would recommend doing that, based on all the commotion on the streets at night around this hotel).

As for the room itself, I personally thought they were a bit cramped (small) compared to other Residence Inn's I've stayed at, but they did seem fairly clean.

Room Tip: If you value your sleep, don't get a room that faces the main streets, as there seems to be a lo...

Pros: For frequent guests, the staff gets to know you pretty quickly and everyone's quite nice. Location is good, walking distance to restaurants, parks, and shopping. Rooms are typical of the newer style Residence Inn, and very well maintained.

Cons: Free internet, as noted by other reviews, is really slow. For a fee you can upgrade to a faster service.

Room Tip: Rooms facing street have some bar/restaurant noise later in the week, poolside is quieter.

I recently stayed here for a business trip and really enjoyed the stay. Staff was very friendly and room was large with all the nice extras - large kitched with full size fridge, stove top, microwave, dishwasher and all the necessary utinsels, pots and pans etc. Room also had separate bedroom and living area. Pool and hot tub were clean and comfortable temperatures. Breakfast was excellent - lots of hot and health options. Location was fantastic - walking distance to manyt great reastaurants and Capital Park is literally right across the street - great place to walk the dog and go for a run. BTW the hotel is very dog friendly (if you can get over the fee).
The only CON: they over booked our first night and sent us to another hotel (The CItizen) which, alough its considered a "nicer" hotel we didn't like it as much because rooms were small and no breakfast included. The room was compted but it was still a huge inconvenience to have to change hotels in the middle of the day while I was trying to get work done.
A note about the parking - I thought it was great. You have to pay for parking at almost every hotel in this area (the trade-off for being downtown). The garage was right next to the hotel and was very well lit.

We basically liked this hotel and would be happy to stay there again. The only complaint I have is that only low-speed internet was included. If you want high speed internet, be prepared to pay $8.95 per day. While that irks me, it was still a very nice place to stay for the money.

The room was nice with a very comfortable bed (great mattress) and lots of places in the room to sit, read & work. The lighting was good. It was quiet with good climate control. One of the best things was the great location near the capital, of which we had a great view from our room (facing west from the top floors).

One annoyance was the $17 per night parking. Although it had in/out privileges, it was somewhat disconnect from the hotel. You have to walk outside to reach the parking from the hotel, and you walk on the driveway. Remember your way, because there is no sign showing you how to get back to the hotel from parking. Guest parking is only on the upper floors, so be prepared to circle up and up between 5 and 7 stories before you can park.

There is a surprise for anyone whose plans change mid trip. There's a $70 charge if you leave earlier than reserved. This is something we didn't know about until we checked in. Not a problem for us this time, but it's another "gotcha!" on top of the parking fee and the charge for hi-speed internet.

The slow-speed internet is good enough to get your email, but forget about downloading podcasts or any content that involves streaming video.

The breakfast buffet was good and varied enough for us to eat several days without fatigue. There was nothing special, but it was fine for an included perk.

The staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly without exception. Someone is doing a fine job of managing this hotel.

Friendly staff, comfortable rooms, decent food, clean property, great location...All that was more than enough for me to recommend this hotel even though the wi-fi and parking were not up to expectations. This is a place I would stay in again.

Room Tip: Choose an upper floor facing West to get a great view of the park and state capital.

Ah yes the internet!! I was happy to see your comments regarding the internet as it provides a great opportunity to share how much we agree! With that said I have been working hard to get it fixed and I am so excited to share that on Thursday, November 3rd the hotel upgrades the basic internet to 20 megs (the IT guy tells me that is good!) and we will eliminate the charge to the guests altogether. But we are not done there, another upgrade for the hotel will occur in December; I'm gonna keep the details of that one under my hat for a little while longer. I will certinaly share your comments with our staff, as they definately do a great job! Thanks for your feedback and we hope to see you again soon! Sincerely, Shelly Moranville

Right downtown. Room was clean, nicely decorated, all conveniences. Big refrigerator, two-burner stove, dishwasher, pots, pans, dishes, etc. Nice LG television (and even had free popcorn), very quiet. The free breakfast was amazing, lots of choices. Would definitely book room at this hotel again.
