“Beautiful hotel in a great location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 October 2012

This little hotel is soo cute. The rooms are so clean and nice. There's a fire place and views of the vineyards. It's right off of main street, so after you taste wines at all the local vineyards, you can stumble your way back to the hotel and relax by the pool before dinner. The beds are comfortable as well, which if you are a seasoned traveller, you know that can be hard to find. Defintiely a great spot to take your honey or your best friend and enjoy a cozy weekend or a high class wine tasting with the girls.

Room Tip: Pick a spot with a nice view of the vineyard or right off of the pool.

We stayed at Vineyard Country Inn for two nights. Considering the area's lodging prices, this was a very good deal. The rooms are large and well-furnished, housekeeping was immaculate (I asked the maid for firm pillows, and they were provided), and the vineyard/sunset view is beautiful. BUT ... road noise is substantial (woke me up several times), pool hours are too restrictive (I would like to take a hot tub after 9pm), and breakfast is adequate (I was aware that the choices were limited, but everything there was very sugary. How about some bran muffins, oatmeal, yogurt, or granola not loaded with coconut?). Management needs to move into the 21st century: communicate with guests via e-mail; provide a computer for guest access for boarding passes, winery information, etc.; and update their billing system. I was amused to be handed a hand-written, hand-calculated room statement. It was a nice stay, but I'll look elsewhere next time.

Room Tip: Get a room as far from the road as possible. We were 3 rooms from the road and it was still very no...

I can really recommend this hotel to everyone who's interested in having a good and relaxed time in a familiar and calm atmosphere. The day starts with a small but really nice and delicious breakfast :) . After that you can enjoy the sun at the pool or in the evening at the jacuzzi. It can be romantic and also relaxing. The rooms are beautifully done up ( the whole hotel is REALLY NICE) :). I was absolutely content and can really recommend it!

The good: Very large suite rooms, probably 600 square feet, each with a fireplace and "view." Sample sinks including bathroom sink, bedroom sink and wet bar. Good location a 2 min drive from downtown St Helena and 10 min drive from probably 20 wineries. Small pool and hot tub on location, hardly every used.

The bad: Although Vineyard Country Inn was advertised as a B&B, it hardly qualifies as such. The breakfast is merely continental with a cake or pie, store-bought bagels, uncut fruit, hard-boiled eggs, and granola cereal. No pancake, sausage, or even scrambled eggs. The location is on the main highway through Napa which gets a LOT of traffic, which you can hear from any room. Make sure to request a room away from the highway if you want any sleep. Also, you might want to request a room away from the air conditioner units, which are located in the space between the middle rooms. These are also noisy. Staff was OK, not super helpful or courteous. When i complained about only light filtering shades (not room darkening curtains) in my room causing the sun to wake me at 5:30 am, the front desk person told me "why don't you hang up some sheets at towels over the windows." When i didn't like that suggestion she told me to "look the other way when the sun comes up." ???? Also, the price of nearly $300/night was overcharging for the quality of the place.

Room Tip: choose room away from main highway. Choose room away from air conditioner condenser units.

I spent a weekend at the Vineyard Country Inn on a girls trip to Napa - I was not sure that it would be the right accommodation for us, and boy was I wrong. This country inn is so precious and it sits in a perfect location for touring the Napa Valley. The room was wonderful, plenty of space with two beds and a family room sitting area. The breakfast just hit the spot each morning - we loved the fruit and oatmeal. Plentiful breakfast and so delicious. The staff were so kind, gracious and helpful - as we were inquiring about day trips around the valley. No matter where we went each day in the Napa Valley, this little spot in St. Helena was central to it all. Loved it!

Just returned from a great weekend with friends in Napa. We all stayed at the Vineyard Country Inn for the first time and highly recommend the property. The Inn is conveniently located on Hwy 29, just south of downtown St. Helena.

The friendly staff all made us feel right at home during our stay. The rooms are really clean and spacious. Each room has a separate sitting area with a fireplace (with a Duraflame log if you so desire), wet bar, fridge (stocked with free water) and coffeemaker. There wasn't a microwave in the room, but the front desk clerk told us there's a microwave in the breakfast area if you need it. Our room had 2 queen beds that were so comfortable! It was tough to get up and get going the next morning. OK, maybe that was the wine... The Inn serves a full Continental breakfast included with your room fees. They provide a nice variety of seasonal fruits, fresh baked goods, cereals, and yogurt as well as juice and coffee. A great way to start your day before heading to the wineries.

There was a lanai area in back of our room where we sat and relaxed between wine tasting and dinner. Our room was off the main road and very quiet. There is a small pool and jacuzzi, perfect to unwind after the days activities. The property is beautifully landscaped with roses everywhere, at the moment they're all in bloom, quite a treat.

Our group of friends is already planning a return trip in the fall at grape harvest time!

Room Tip: The rooms near Highway 29 can be noisy if you're a light sleeper.

Have stayed at the Vineyard Country Inn on 4 separate occasions. What a GREAT place! Perfect location, very comfortable, charming, and large rooms, extremely friendly staff and owner, and very reasonable price. We love coming to Napa and will never stay anywhere else!!

Room Tip: All the rooms consist of a sitting area and bedroom with a fireplace. Very nice, in 4 stays we have...
