Owner description: Presenting Charles Krug's Cucina di Rosa Salumeria, now offering handcrafted salumi and artisan cheeses daily! Starting in July 2017, enjoy wood-fired pizza on our tree-lined lawn (Thursday through Mondays) from 11 to 4. Pair these Italian-inspired delicacies with a delicious glass of Charles Krug wine. The oldest winery in Napa Valley, Charles Krug recently renovated its historic Redwood Cellar, turning it into one of the region's most stunning Tasting Rooms. Named one of the "Top 10 California Tasting Experiences" by Food & Wine and winner of the 2015 Architecture and Landscape Award for Best of Wine Tourism, this is the winery that put Napa on the map. A must-see for anyone interested in the legacy of Napa Valley winemaking. We offer several tasting options daily, including barrel tastings, private tours, and exclusive tastings of our limited release wines. Walk-ins are welcome, or call to make an appointment.

“LOVE, LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE”

I cannot even describe the experience I had at this winery. We had a food and wine pairing. So outstanding. The chef spent time talking with us about the scrumptious food and the wines (also scrumptious). The whole experience was so wonderful that no one else even compared, and we had other great tastings. This place was a rock star experience.

“Fantastic wine tasting there today in beautiful tasting room”
Reviewed 4 June 2014

Had a fantastic wine tasting here today with Gerlinde in their new tasting room which is beautiful. Excellent wines and very friendly atmosphere. In July they will start having small plates of food to offer. I highly recommend a visit here when you are in the wine country, you will not be disappointed!

“Very good tasting ”

A lovely setting, a beautiful building. The oldest vineyard in napa, with some lovely wines.

The staff were very informative and friendly, and served us some great wines.

“One of our favorites”
Reviewed 15 April 2014

The newly remodeled redwood building (stone outside, redwood inside) is now open and the old trailer style tasting room has been demolished. It is now a modern experience with old world charm rivaling the best tasting rooms in Napa. You can choose any of 3 different tastings based on the wines you like and the money you are willing to spend. This winery produces some of the base Cabernets in the valley so if that is your thing (probably is since you are in Napa) then this should be on your list. No doubt that your experience is tied to the people that are serving you and if they get busy your experience could suffer. It can happen anywhere. But Krug now has a large room with multiple tasting "bars" so you aren't going to be cramped and actually have a place to roam and explore. Quite different from the old trailer.

“Just for the sake of visiting”
Reviewed 13 April 2014

Since it's located on the roadside I'd definetely drop by for a visit and some pictures in the the wineyards and among the row of olive tres. Beares of the high prices in the shop, though.
