This place has reasonable and tasty food for a good price. The atmosphere is moderate, service (too?) fast and the restroom not fresh.. For a quick and cheap meal it's a good option, but don't go for the ambiance. And try and avoid the restroom

We were in Salinas for one night while exploring the Monterey bay and wanted to have Chinese food. The food was amazing (we had Teriyaki Chicken and Beef Chow Mein), the portions were generous, the place was clean, and the service (albeit a bit prompt) was good. It's also inexpensive (less than 25$ for two people).

This place is worth the long excursion off of the 101 and into downtown Salinas. they have an amazingly large menu with a set lunch (soup, entree, beverage). I had Szechuan chicken and they cooked a custom stir-fried vegetable dish for my spouse. We each had hot and sour soup.

We arrived well past the peak of the lunch hour, about 2:00pm, but they were happy to see us and the food seemed to be freshly prepared. Definitely tasty.

It is not an elegant dining experience. From the street I thought we were going into a tiny hole-in-the wall that was primarily doing take-out. Surprise! The restaurant opened out inside to reveal a large room that was well-lit and pleasant. Of course we did not experience it packed with customers.

Food is always good and fresh. It is family owned and the service is outstanding. Sam, one of the owners, is friendly, personable, and always takes a personal interest in the food and service. They will go out of their way to individualize your order as well.

We have been eating at the Eagle since it opened and don't go anywhere else for Chinese food. There specialties are memorable- try the walnut prawns for an unexpected treat. The owners are always friendly and helpful. If you can't make a decision- they will always point you in the right direction. Food is fresh, prepared individually. Lunch specials are not to be missed either.
