After driving for miles through Central California enroute to Napa and passing fields of produce and agriculture we were hungry for Mexican food. We got off the highway in Salinas and stumbled on Mi Tierra. It was just what we were looking for...nothing fancy, small, plastic chairs and little tables, but there were many people eating and the atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. We ordered a delicious breakfast burrito and a carnitas plate with rice and beans. The tortillas were delicious and the salsa and chips a perfect addition. The waitress was very friendly and accommodating, even packing our leftovers so we could enjoy them in our hotel the next morning.

Sent here by Hoiliday Inn desk person as best real Mexican food around.
They have plastic chairs and basic tables. The food was very good basic Mexican food. The only thing that was disappointing was the Guacamole; it was too full of tomato and onion not enough avocado.
I had a Chili Relano and combo plate with tamale and a cheese and onion enchilada. All were very good. My buddy JoeDon had shrimp enchiladas and said that they were better than the ones at one of the best Mexican places I go to.
Beer and basic wine only
The salsa was very good though Marsha, my wife could not eat it, too hot for her but she is not in tune with Hot.
I don’t know the other local places so I can’t compare. JoeDon (another coast to coast traveler) and I would both come back here to try other things. I suspect there are other fancier places in town but we sure were able to stretch the old expense account here. Again nothing special but very good basic food. Also good service.
