“Trains and Geocaches!”
Review of Cajon Pass

Reviewed 25 October 2013

We stopped here to do some trainspotting and geocaching last September. The scenery is beautiful and the BNSF trains rumble through periodically, making this a must-see for any train buffs. Additionally, there are geocaches in the area so, if you're into geocaching and your boys (like mine) are into trains, this is a great spot to come visit.

There are several gas stations and fast food restaurants at the offramp. The hiking/walking is easy and is all level ground. Bring a camera and your GPS and spend a nice afternoon here.

I have been to Cajon Pass to watch trains many times and am never disappointed. Try old 66 (Cajon Blve., and be sure to get off I-15 at Cleghorn Rd. to see Sullivan's Curve. The scenery is breathtaking and there is a steady parade of trains from two major railroads.

If you want to view the Cajon Pass, go onto route 66, which is below the 15 freeway and travel this historic road. You can stop and take pictures, picnic, etc. To get onto route 66 take the first exit south of the Hwy138 exit.
