“Thin Walls Offer No Protection from Abundant Noise.”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 December 2008

Very busy Waterman Avenue traffic noise easily finds its way right through the poorly insulated walls. This would be bad enough but during my own particular stay several noisy guests in the room near mine were YELLING to each other around the perimeter walkways after at 11:30 at night which made the situation intolerable. This is the kind of noise that an astute hotel management team should have been able to hear from their office which is right below my room! My room had no problems otherwise but not being able to get a good night's sleep and feeling victimized is a deal breaker in my book. Sorry Quality Inn. I think this is your weakest link. Never again!

We stayed at the QI over the Memorial Weekend, and the only saving grace was that the beds were comfy and the breakfast not too shabby. All four rooms our family booked had a dank smell that was overwhelming. Since you can't open the windows, you just got used to it. Two of the rooms smelled like cigarette smoke...everyday. Because it was a holiday weekend, we weren't able to change rooms. Oh, and our bathroom sink leaked everytime you turned on the water.

I wouldn't recommend it...unless all other places were booked.

Just stayed 2 weekend nites here with my boyfriend and another couple. We were headed to the Tiki Invasion in Montclair and waited too long to book our rooms in Chino/Montclair/Claremont.

Was convinced by the TripAdvisor reviews to cancel our booking at the Best Western Hospitality Lane and move over here. Good move, it seems. The price was right -- $80.99/nt. with AAA. The motel is also about a block further off the freeway, so the property is pretty quiet. No other property borders it and the North side borders a bike trail.

The motel has some nice updated touches -- soft pillows, lightweight duvets, polished granite countertop in sink area. The furniture was a little worn, however (scratches and nicks) and the carpet had seen better days.

One of our lamps didn't work at all, but sputtered and popped when you tried to turn it on. The outlet near the headboard was coming out of the wall and there was actually a huge piece of plaster coming out right along with it. Our room had not been quite "finished" by housekeeping, apparently, since we had an empty box of facial tissues and no cups at all. I had to go to the night window and ask for them. In addition, our air-conditioning unit seemed to not work properly. Despite having fan settings for "high," "low," and "auto," the unit shut itself off after 2 minutes no matter WHAT setting or temperature you choose. Our room alternated between muggy and sweaty and freezing cold every 10 minutes or so. I would have liked to have had constant fan with a higher temp setting, but this was not to be.

While there are some "upscale" touches to this Quality Inn, it's still a discount stay. The soap was the standard Jhirmack brand and the bath towels were just barely larger than the hand towels and pretty thin. In addition, there are only 2 bath towels in the room and when we asked for an additional one, it never arrived. Only powdered creamer in the coffee tray (yuck).

We figured out too late that there was a continental breakfast each morning from 6 - 9, since the night desk clerk didn't tell us about it. Oh, well...we slept in instead. Honestly, for $80.99+taxes, it's a pretty good deal. I've certainly stayed in worse for more and the silence and nice bed were appreciated.

  • Liked — The pillows and duvet.
  • Disliked — The flimsy towels, the powdered creamer, the faulty A/C.

Only stayed a couple of nights but was impressed with the overall appearance of the property, the cleanliness of the rooms, friendly service and beautiful grounds. We stayed here based on the reviews and ratings on TripAdvisor. It is located right off the Waterman and Hospitality Lane and very convenient to most everything. We had a room on the third floor and looked out at the gorgeous mtns .

We stayed here for one night in February 2008 as part of an organised tour group. The mountain areas are lovely and the weather (in Feb) was a little cold , but beautiful during the day.
The Quality Inn is in a great location only a few minutes walk from Hospitality lane area and a wide range of shops and restaurants (also Sizzler right opposite). Also there is a bike path , right next to the hotel. We stayed on the ground floor (Room 142?). The room was ok , but clean. The inland empire has some questionable areas, but this place in one of the best parts of the inland empire. I have to say that I felt totally safe at all times walking around the hotel and nearby. It seemed a perfectly nice area to me and there were no 'undesirable guests!' Also pool area was fabulous.

The Quality Inn San Bernardino is a budget motel in a great location. Don't expect luxury - but for a night or two to explore the mountains or Palm Springs it's fine.

We hadn't intended to stay here but the road up to the mountains was closed due to rain and snow..We just walked into the hotel without a reservation but that was no problem. Price was pretty reasonable I thought particularly for such a nice hotel. The surrounding area, had a lot of places to eat (Sizzlers, Mimis, Black Angus, BJ's ,etc) so our unexpected stay in the area turned out to be a nice adventure. I used the laundry downstairs and also the wifi in the lobby to check email and had no problems with either. The interstate in 1 minute away, so the place is pretty accessible..All in all a pretty good unexpected stay.

Im a traveling nurse, so i sleepy days and work nights. I usually get in early in the morning , have breakfast, and sleep all day. This means that I really like to have a good bed and a very quiet room. This hotel provided both of these needs for me. The next time im working this area , I will be back.
