“Great place to stop”

We were surprised at the size of the room inside the tepee. Everything was very clean and comfortable. The manager was extremely helpful and nothing was a problem for him. Staying in a wigwam is something everyone doing Route 66 must do and tick off the bucket list

When we started planning our Chicago to Los Angeles Route 66 trip the California Wigwam Hotel was the one place we knew we wanted to stay. While making our reservation the owner gave us recommendations of places to stay along the way. Those recommendations turned our vacation into the trip of lifetime. Not only does Kumar have a great place to stay, but he served as a critical concierge for our entire trip. We are forever in his debt.

As for the Wigwam Hotel itself, my wife agree it was the best stay on Route 66. Yes, an incredible restoration job was done on the teepees. The rooms have A/C, refrigerator and wifi. The grounds and swimming pool were very meticulously cared for. And we got to park our car right next to your teepee. However, the best part for us was the hospitality of our host. We enjoyed our stay so much we booked an additional two nights. As one lady told us, "It is just like a little oasis!"

We (Mom, Dad, 13 yr old) stayed for a night while on a road trip from Northern Alberta. Kumar is a great host. He was very personable and seemed to really enjoy getting to know the guests. The night we stayed (July 3), he got a campfire going for the guests, complete with smores and fireworks. Our wigwam was clean, the beds were comfy and the pool was a great way to cool off in the summer heat. Great value for a fun night in a historic motel.

Been wanting to stay here for years and finally was able to find a vacant teepee on a Thursday. I've been taken back to my childhood and the road trips we took across the U.S., staying in roadside motor inns! The manager, Kumar, is a Route 66 "junkie." Ask him about his trips. Wigwams/Teepees are small, but very clean and comfortable. Grounds are spotless and you park next to your teepee. Surrounding area might not be the most inviting, but The Wigwam Motel is safe and secure. A must stay.

We travelled Route 66 last April-May with another couple. The previous day before arriving in the LA area we booked two rooms online. We arrived in the late afternoon and could hangout in the garden and at the pool - although it is along a busy road, we could relax and you are not bothered by the traffic. We were joined after a while by the owner Kumar. He advised us on the last part of the Route and because we were so young driving the route, we were even interviewed by Kumar on why we were travelling the route, our experiences and so on. Later on he took us out to dinner and to Ed's Route 66 Bar a little further on the road.
Kumar was very friendly and funny to hangout with - this was one of the best experiences in both stay and encounter we had during our complete route-driving. We absolutely had no unsafe feeling - on the contrary - and yes the area is a bit scruffy, but trust me, along our route 66 we landed up in much more impoverished areas. This is part of what America is in reality, sad but true.
Don't stay here if you expect a perfect hotel room and neighbourhood - do stay here if you wish to stay in an historical interesting place and in a genuine meeting with a passionate person!

I am a female and I travel alone. I am planning my fourth stay in two years here.

That being said, I have felt safer here then at a Hyatt. The rooms are cleaner too.

I love what the Patel Family has done to keep the spirit of Rt.66 alive. This place is really amazing. Every time I stay here, I am amazed at how comfortable and welcomed I feel. I don't feel like a guest, I feel like a friend.

My husband and I have stayed here twice and have loved both stays. Comfortable rooms, nice beds, fast Wi-Fi and the owners are wonderful. I enjoy being in a place where the owners are friendly and willing to actually talk to guests, not just quickly send them off to their room like you'd find in a boring chain motel.

As for the location...sure it's not in the best part of Rialto but that's part of its charm. We've had no problems while there and felt completely safe walking around the area, even at night.

We will be back again next time we are in the area.
