Pretty comfortable hotel, good breakfast, lovely people. In some places they don't have elevators, so you may need some help with your bags. Rooms are comfortable and the hotel is pretty well localized closed to the airport (they have an excellent complimentary shuttle service) and to the Tanforan mall.
We stayed here after a day in San Francisco prior to a very early morning flight out of SFO. It was a great choice. The one room suite easily fit our family of 4 and we appreciated the kitchen plates since we were celebrating a birthday with cake! Everything seems to have been recently renovated and is clean. The bed linens were upscale as were the towels (I judge a hotel by the thickness of the towels and these were thick!). The location is perfect for the airport - about 5 minutes away. We did not go to the nearby mall or use bart, but as other reviews have noted, they are only a few minutes walk away.
I did not rate this 5 stars for 2 reasons. First, the breakfast was only so-so. There was a lot of food, but the eggs were icky and the bagels really just circular bread! The fruit was good though. Second, while it was a very nice hotel, I generally reserve 5 stars for either super luxe or exceptional places. This was very very good, just not exceptional.
However, I would highly recommend it.
We were 5 guys, so we needed a room with some space. In this case, we booked a two bedroom suite, with plenty of space and everything we could wish for.
Two bathrooms, three flatscreen tvs, a very nice kitchen area with a huge fridge.
Everything seemed very new and the whole suite was very clean. The hotel is very conveniently located (a couple restaurants and shops are in walking distance and there is plenty of parking).
Breakfast was pretty good. It takes just a short drive to get to San Francisco.
We were very happy with our stay at Staybridge Suites.

Stayed here October 24th. Check in was quick and painless. My room was on the ground floor. It was quite large. I'm not sure if that was because I am a platinum member or if was just what was available. It was basically a two bedroom apartment and also had two separate bathrooms, with flat screen tv's in both rooms. The hotel is situated right next to a decent shopping mall and movie theater and plenty of other stores. This was my 4th time staying here and they will continue to receive my business.
I dont completely agree with the many positive reviews of this place. When we arrived on October 10 in the evening, we did not feel especially welcome. The man at the reception seemed in a hurry to check us in, and it was obvious that he wanted to go back to watching TV as quickly as he could. So he did not really have the time to explain the hotel layout to us.
The room was nice though, recently remodelled and with lots of space. The free breakfast was also quite good, with rotating hot items every morning.
Two major drawbacks for this hotel:
While the interior rooms have been remodelled, the exterior looks old and shabby. Add to that, that the hotel is situated close to a not-so-nice neigbourhood. We did not feel comfortable to walk outside in the evening, and never saw any hotel security. Having a big mall near the hotel was nice though.
We would probably choose to stay another place next time.

We were pleasantly surprised at the roominess we found here. Kitchenette came stocked with what we needed to make a nice dinner for some friends. We enjoyed the pool and used the laundry facilities. The breakfast here was a nice meal, not the rolls and oj you might get somewhere else.
We took advantage of the mall, restaurants and Bart all within walking distance.
The only reason I'm not giving a 5 star is because of its location to the airport. Low flying planes made some noise noticeable even inside the room.
Otherwise great rooms, and facilities!
