This is a lovely museum overlooking the ocean just north of the San Clemente pier. It's the home of the founder of San Clemente, now turned into a musuem and gardens. The gardens and views are spectacular, affording high views north, west, and south of the ocean and surrounding areas.
The home itself is a beautiful villa-style home with some of the original furnishings and accessories. In other cases, they use the space for rotating art exhibits. I enjoyed the old photos of southern Californina (Venice Beach, surfing, etc.) and learning about the history of San Clemente in the main living room.
Casa Romantica is a nice way to spend an afternoon in San Clemente. You're just a short walk to the restaurants near the pier, too.
