“They have uncomfortable chairs on the deck...”
Reviewed 16 July 2012

...but the food at the Two Bird is very, very good. We've been brunching aroung Northern CA for several years and consider ourselves burnch experts. The whole wheat pancakes here are extraordinary. My partner had the "Valley Omelet" with asparagus...excellent. Crispy home fires were good. They serve Graffeo coffee which is exceptionally good. The Huevos Rancheros looked a bit like a kids meal with a lot of melted cheese and tortilla chips, but at the tables around us this dish seemed to be very popular. (Best Huevos Rancheros: Putah Creek Cafe in Winters and Bay Watch on Lombard in SF). Our brunch with two Bloody Marys, two cups of coffee came to $45. The deck is shaded and relaxing (except for the chairs), our server was warm, witty and personable, worth 20%. We'll be back.

“Great Hotel with a great diner next store!”
Reviewed 18 June 2012

Stayed at the Valley Inn here after a show at Nicasio and tried the diner in the morning. The garden view out our window was the makings of a wonderful meal. Service was prompt and efficient. It has a different vibe. Love that about it! both the oatmeal with golden raisins and the broccoli omelet were wonderful. will be back for dinner next show!

“A dismal experience...”
Reviewed 6 March 2012

…at theTwo Bird Café and the associated Inn Feb 24-26, 2012.
We waited fifty minutes for dinner after ordering. After 35 minutes we were told: “It’s coming right up”, later we heard “We’ve got a large party”, then “Would you like a (free) glass of wine” and finally, “That’s the kitchen – it’s not my fault” from a surly server. The food itself included a couple of marvelous sauces but pasta so grossly overcooked that it was inedible.

The accommodations (unit #6) consisted of two tiny rooms. Just inside the door was a small area furnished by two occasional chairs and nothing else, not a table, not a lamp; its purpose escapes me. The bathroom included a broken window and four unfilled screw holes in the wall where some kind of fixture had been removed. No drinking glasses were provided. There was no safety latch on the front door; anyone with a firm plastic credit card or a flat table knife could have gained access. The unit was quite clean.

No, we would not return and no we would not recommend either the Café or the Inn. There are much better places to stay just ten minutes away in Corte Madera or Larkspur.

“Great food on the deck under the shady trees!”
Reviewed 13 September 2011

My Mom and I finally tried the Two Bird after driving past it many times. We were always on our way to Petaluma or on our way to the beach. Now that we've tried the food, we'll plan to stop often when we're "on our way". The home fries are crispy good and the mushroom sandwich was yummy! (ask for an extra napkin it's juicy!)

“Favorite dining on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard on way to Point Reyes National Seashore”
Reviewed 26 May 2010

Our favorite for breakfast or lunch or elegant Euro style dinners. We've been eating here for years and never been disappointed. It is Family friendly, indoor and outdoor dining. In warm weather, you can bring your pooch to dine with you outdoors on the open air decks. In cold weather, cozy indoor dining with large stone fireplace. Friendly staff, generous portions of well-prepared, delicious food on a changing menu. Early breakfast hour for you early risers, plus lunch and especially elegant dinners. Live music during weekends. If you need a place to spend the night on your way out or back from Point Reyes, it is adjacent to the little Valley Inn. Setting is in quiet, beautiful Marin County horse country.
