“A natural shady walk”
Reviewed 21 June 2014

I run my own doggie day care, so, last month on a day when it got close to 100 degrees in San Jose. I needed to take the dogs out for a walk, so I decided to go to Vasona Park. I had remembered that one of the trails that run to and from the park was pretty shady. I hadn't realized just how shady and beautiful this trail was. It winds down along the creek on Roberts Ave. It was beautiful!! So many trees and wildlife, it never even got hot for us and we all enjoyed the walk. If I need to walk dogs now when it is hot - this is where I am going!!!!

“Best place in the area to run/bike”
Reviewed 13 May 2014

I love this trail. It runs from Willow Glen to Lake Vasona in Los Gatos and a little beyond. I believe the whole trail is 13 miles long. I'd say the best parts are from Campbell Park to Lake Vasona, and spring is the best time to go. There is also a dog park along the trail in Campbell. If you're looking for paved exercise trails, there is also one that runs along downtown (though a few homeless may be present), one from Alamden Lake, and another near Hellyer Park called Coyote Creek.

“Great for exercise, sightseeing and other activities”
Reviewed 11 April 2014

Through Campbell and Los Gatos, this trail offers lots of amenities. From Campbell Ave. traveling south you'll find a small urban park with picnic tables, basketball courts and a par course. You'll then arrive at Los Gatos Creek County Park, which offers more picnicking, an enclosed dog park, and percolation ponds that offer great wild bird viewing. As you travel further south into Los Gatos, the trail passes through Vasona County Park and its lake, and adjacent to Vasona is Oak Meadow Park, with its wooden horse carousel and small scale Billy Jones railroad - both great for kids. Water fountains and restrooms are readily accessible at all locations.
Continue further down the trail and you'll arrive in downtown Los Gatos, behind Old Town. South of town, the trail continues gradually uphill on an unpaved track for about two miles, bringing you up to Lexington Reservoir. Carry water, because drinkable water isn't available on this stretch.
The trail ends at Alma Bridge Rd. at the reservoir, and if you go left on Alma Bridge for about an eighth of a mile, you'll come to the St. Joseph's Hill trailhead on your left. The trail is a lot more challenging from here on, but very pretty. Follow it for a couple of miles and you'll end up near College Ave. just above downtown Los Gatos. Go left on College and you'll arrive back in downtown Los Gatos near Old Town, where you can continue north on the Los Gatos Creek Trail back towards Campbell.

“Get away on this urbal trail”
Reviewed 9 March 2014

We enjoy this trail every time we visit the area. It's great for walking and biking. Hotels in Campbell give you easy access to the trail. Stop at the pond and watch the birds. See kids fishing. Feel like you're enjoying nature and getting away in the middle of the city. We love it.

“great place to ride bikes”
Reviewed 4 March 2014

bike riding here is perfect - no cars or distractions like that... the drive takes you from Meridian Ave all the way to Vasona Park on Blossom Hill.
