Description: Firehouse No. 1 Bar & Grill is a outstanding San Jose destination when you're looking for great food, delicious drinks, and friendly people. Gastro pub quality fare made from scratch in addition to impressive daily specials. A vast and well stocked bar that includes hand crafted cocktails in addition to draft and bottle beers, and select wines. Be sure to participate in the occasional whole bar sing-alongs, or cheer the bartenders on as they prepare exotic flaming drinks and smash bottles behind the bar. Lots of LCD screens when there is a sporting event or Sharks game - or just digital flames all around late at night. Open from 11AM until 2AM weekdays with happy hour from 3pm to 7pm. On weekends, open from 4PM until 2AM. We have full table service both inside and on the patio. Patio heaters when its cold.

Went with a few work folks to Firehouse 1, and had a great experience. We tried most of the small plates, and ordered extra on a few as well. The burger is also great, tons of flavor and extra napkins needed! Easy walking distance from the downtown hotels.

Will go again next time I'm in town.

“Believe the reviews ”

Been to San Jose many times, and though aware of the Firehouse, didn't have a chance until now to give it a try.

Glad we did. All the positive comments about the pork belly sliders were spot on. Delicious!

Also had the Mac n cheese which was very tasty. The wings were good too, but the "hot" flavor wasn't buffalo hot. No real bite.

Still, the great selection of beers and very friendly staff / bartenders made me quickly forget about the lack of heat on the wings!

Everything on the menu looked great, need to go back and try more.

Definite recommend.

“Great Food, kind of hidden....”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 October 2013

Went to a birthday lunch here, had read about it but didn't know much about the place. Kinda small place, walked right by it without knowing it was there, used to be the 'Shark and Rose' a while back.
Food is exceptionally good, and you can tell they take pride in its preparation and delivery. Had the Housemade potato chips, porkbelly sliders, 8 oz flat iron steak and to drink, a mermaids red and a kwak.
The food was delicious and portions were fair to large. The steak was juicy, prepared medium rare, to order, with lots of beefy flavor. Porkbelly sliders were good, without being super fatty.
Great grub here, good for casual dining or drinks and a hearty meal.

“Yummy food. Great choice. ”

Went here on a Sunday evening by myself on a work trip. I had the cheeseburger (lettuce wrapped) and side salad. The burger was juicy and the salad was a perfect size. I walked away stuffed. I will come back again.
