“Had an Excellent Time Here.”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

Spent the afternoon with family enjoying the grass and sunshine. Easy to find, lots of open parking, bathrooms here and there.

if you find yourself in the area, in need of a classic open-air park scene. Grab a picnic basket, some libations, and a few friends, and go outside!

“Walk in the park”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

Out of the way. Great for picnics, many walking trails thru historic areas. Can park outside and walk in (1/2 mile), or plenty of parking inside. Can accommodate groups. still has natural mineral springs.

“One of my favorites for hiking and biking”
Reviewed 19 May 2014

With San Jose's climate so appealing, I like to come out here to escape the unpredictable weather I am often accustomed to. As soon as I get there, I head for this park, which provides a real tonic for the body and soul. I particularly enjoy biking the trails, which can take as many hours as one wishes. The hiking is also enjoyable in the shaded pathways in the gullies between the hills.

It is a stone's throw away from the city, so even the casual visitor can take some time out to enjoy a walk or bike ride in this lovely area.

“Awesome natural hiking trails next to downtown!”
Reviewed 14 August 2013

This is a great park. it has beautiful natural trails and scenic views from the mountains. It is very close to San Jose downtown and you can hike there the whole day. Not crowded at all, quiet and very well maintained. Highly recommended for hiking!

“Candidate For Best City Park Anywhere”
Reviewed 9 August 2013

Remains of a 1920s resort in a gorge above San Jose. Been going there for nearly 40 years. Easy walks to tough hikes when you throw in the adjoining open space. Go there after a hard rain sometime and you'll see the creek in flood. Spectacular!
